1 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,ಕರ್ತನು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದ ನಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬೈಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--

2 Command the children of Israel that they give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and suburbs for the cities round about them shall you give to the Levites.ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯದ ಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಲೇವಿ ಯರಿಗೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡ ಬೇಕು; ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಉಪನಗರ ಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

3 The cities shall they have to dwell in; and their suburbs shall be for their cattle, and for their substance, and for all their animals.ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಉಪನಗರ ಗಳು ಅವರ ಪಶುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸರಕುಗಳಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಇರ ಬೇಕು.

4 The suburbs of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits round about.ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳ ಉಪನಗರಗಳು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಗೋಡೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ ಅಗಲವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

5 You shall measure outside of the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.ನೀವು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಪೂರ್ವ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ಉತ್ತರ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ ಅಳೆಯಬೇಕು; ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಿರಬೇಕು; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಉಪನಗರಗಳು ಇರಬೇಕು.

6 The cities which you shall give to the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to: and besides them you shall give forty-two cities.ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಹತ್ಯಮಾಡಿದ ವನು ಓಡುವಹಾಗೆ ಆರು ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು; ಅವುಗಳ ಹೊರತು ನೀವು ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

7 All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities; them [shall you give] with their suburbs.ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಉಪ ನಗರಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೆಂಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

8 Concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall take many; and from the few you shall take few: everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give of his cities to the Levites.ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಕೊಡುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದವರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾದವರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತಾನು ಹೊಂದುವ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

9 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--

10 Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಯೊರ್ದ ನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ

11 then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು.

12 The cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.ಕೊಂದವನು ಸಭೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸುವವನ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

13 The cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.ನೀವು ಕೊಡುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಆರು ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಇರಬೇಕು.

14 You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities shall you give in the land of Canaan; they shall be cities of refuge.ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

15 For the children of Israel, and for the stranger and for the foreigner living among them, shall these six cities be for refuge; that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಆರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಪರಕೀಯರಿಗೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇರಬೇಕು.

16 But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು; ಆ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು.

17 If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮರಣವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಎಸೆದು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಸಾಯುವಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು; ಆ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು.

18 Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮರಣವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮರದ ಆಯುಧವನ್ನು ಎಸೆದು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು; ಆ ಕೊಲೆ ಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು.

19 The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death: when he meets him, he shall put him to death.ರಕ್ತ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸುವಾಗಲೇ ಕೊಲ್ಲ ಬೇಕು.

20 If he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನೂಕುವದ ರಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಹೊಂಚಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಎಸೆದರೆ

21 or in enmity struck him with his hand, so that he died; he who struck him shall surely be put to death; he is a murderer: the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death, when he meets him.ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವಮಾಡಿ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನೇ; ಹೊಡೆದವನನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು; ರಕ್ತ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸುವವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸುವಾಗಲೇ ಆ ಕೊಲೆ ಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕು.

22 But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,ಆದರೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೂಕುವದರಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ಸಮಯ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಯಾವದಾದರೊಂದು ಆಯುಧವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದರೆ

23 or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm;ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವಿಲ್ಲದೆಯೂ ಅವನ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕದೆಯೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡದೆಯೂ ಮರಣ ವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಯಾವದಾದರೊಂದು ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಮಾಡಿದರೆ

24 then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances;ಸಭೆಯು ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವವನಿಗೂ ರಕ್ತ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸುವವನಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು.

25 and the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he was fled: and he shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.ಸಭೆಯು ಕೊಂದವನನ್ನು ರಕ್ತದ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸು ವವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಓಡಿಹೋದ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕು; ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕನು ಸಾಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸಮಾಡಲಿ.

26 But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge, where he flees,ಯಾವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು ತಾನು ಓಡಿಹೋದ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇರೆ ಯನ್ನು ವಿಾರಿ ಹೊರಟರೆ

27 and the avenger of blood find him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kill the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of blood,ರಕ್ತದ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸು ವವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇರೆಯ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ರಕ್ತಾಪ ರಾಧವಿಲ್ಲ.

28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕನು ಸಾಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡ ಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕನ ಮರಣದ ತರು ವಾಯ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದು.

29 These things shall be for a statute [and] ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.ಹೀಗೆ ಇವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಮಸ್ತ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ನ್ಯಾಯದ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಗಳಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

30 Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person that he die.ಪ್ರಾಣಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕು; ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗಾದರೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬಾರದು.

31 Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.ಸಾಯತಕ್ಕ ಕೊಲೆ ಪಾತಕನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಈಡನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು.

32 You shall take no ransom for him who is fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.ತನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದವನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅವನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ಯಾಜಕನು ಸಾಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಸ್ವದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಈಡನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ.

33 So you shall not pollute the land in which you are: for blood, it pollutes the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him who shed it.ಹೀಗೆ ನೀವು ಇರುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಪವಿತ್ರ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಪವಿತ್ರಮಾಡು ವಂಥದ್ದು ರಕ್ತವೇ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ರಕ್ತದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅದನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದವನ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇಶವು ಶುದ್ಧವಾ ಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

34 You shall not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell: for I, Yahweh, dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ವಾಸಮಾಡುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಅಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿರುವ ನಾನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
