ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕದಲಿಹೋಯಿತು. ಜನರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಓಡಿಬಂದು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.
