4 ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಮೇಷನು ಕುರಿಮಂದೆ ಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಣ್ಣೆ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಟಗರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಪ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
5 ಅಹಾ ಬನು ಸತ್ತ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಮೋವಾ ಬಿನ ಅರಸನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದನು.
6 ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋರಾಮನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿದನು.
7 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಬರುವಿಯೋ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ನಾನು ಬರುವೆನು; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಜನರು ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರೇ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳಂತೆಯೇ ಅಂದನು.
4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
