ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ--ಎಲೀಯನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಎಲೀಷನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗನಮಸ್ಕಾರಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯ ರಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡು.

ಆಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನರು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ-- ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದು, ಭೂಮಿ ಬಂಜೆಯಾದದ್ದು ಅಂದರು.

ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ--ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸ ನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನು ಸತ್ತನು; ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದನೆಂದು ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲೆ; ಈಗ ಸಾಲಗಾರನು ನನ್ನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತನಗೆ ದಾಸ ರಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದಳು.

ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುವ ಆದರಿಕನು ಅಂದರೆ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ಸತ್ಯದ ಆತ್ಮನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುವನು.

ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗ 1:8

ಅದಕ್ಕಾತನು--ನನ್ನ ಕೃಪೆಯೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಕು; ಬಲಹೀನತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಬಲವು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಬಲವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿ ಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನಗುಂಟಾಗುವ ನಿರ್ಬಲಾ ವಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬಹು ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಡುವೆನು.

ನೀವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಯುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ದೂಷಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ.
