1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years.ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಹಜ್ಯನಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತ ಮೂರನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಹದಿನೇಳು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು.

2 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; he didn't depart from it.ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡದೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದನು.

3 The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಜಾ ಯೇಲನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

4 Jehoahaz begged Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Syria oppressed them.ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಾಧೆಪಡಿಸಿದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಬಾಧೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು.

5 (Yahweh gave Israel a savior, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel lived in their tents as before.ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ರಕ್ಷಕ ನನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

6 Nevertheless they didn't depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin, but walked therein: and there remained the Asherah also in Samaria.)ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮನೆಯ ಪಾಪ ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡದೆ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಪು ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.

7 For he didn't leave to Jehoahaz of the people save fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them, and made them like the dust in threshing.ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನಿಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಕುದುರೆ ರಾಹುತ ರನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೊರತು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹ ರಿಸಿ ತುಳಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಧೂಳಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು.

8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯ ಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

9 Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his place.ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು; ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.

10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] sixteen years.ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಮೂವತ್ತೇಳನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವಾ ಹಾಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು.

11 He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh; he didn't depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; but he walked therein.ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿ ಸಿದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡದೆ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆದನು.

12 Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ ಅವನ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

13 Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat on his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.ಯೆಹೋವಾ ಷನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು; ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು. ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.

14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness of which he died: and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen of it!ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ಮರಣಕರವಾದ ವ್ಯಾಧಿ ಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅತ್ತು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ರಥವೂ ಅದರ ಕುದುರೆ ರಾಹುತನೂ ಆದವನೇ ಅಂದನು.

15 Elisha said to him, Take bow and arrows; and he took to him bow and arrows.ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಬಿಲ್ಲನ್ನೂ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೋ ಅಂದನು.

16 He said to the king of Israel, Put your hand on the bow; and he put his hand [on it]. Elisha laid his hands on the king's hands.ಅವನು ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸು ಅಂದನು.

17 He said, Open the window eastward; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot; and he shot. He said, Yahweh's arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you shall strike the Syrians in Aphek, until you have consumed them.ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಎಲೀಷನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಕೈಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಮೂಡಲಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಿಟಕಿಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ತೆರೆದನು. ಎಲೀಷನು--ಎಸೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ಎಸೆದನು. ಇದು ಕರ್ತನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಬಾಣ; ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಬಾಣವೇ, ಏನಂದರೆ ಅಫೇಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆ ಯುವಿ ಅಂದನು.

18 He said, Take the arrows; and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, Smite on the ground; and he struck thrice, and stayed.ಅವನು--ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೋ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ -- ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಡೆ ಅಂದನು.

19 The man of God was angry with him, and said, You should have struck five or six times: then had you struck Syria until you had consumed it, whereas now you shall strike Syria but thrice.ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆದು ನಿಂತನು. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ರೌದ್ರವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ--ನೀನು ಐದಾರು ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆ ಯಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಆಗ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿ; ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆಯುವಿ ಅಂದನು.

20 Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.ಎಲೀಷನು ಸತ್ತ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿ ಟ್ಟರು. ವರುಷದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರ ದಂಡು ಗಳು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದವು.

21 It happened, as they were burying a man, that behold, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the tomb of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.ಆಗ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಡಲು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ದಂಡನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನನ್ನು ಎಲೀಷನ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಾಡಿದರು. ಸತ್ತ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಾಗ ಎಲೀಷನ ಎಲುಬು ಗಳಿಗೆ ತಗುಲಿ ಜೀವ ಉಂಟಾದವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲೂರಿ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತನು.

22 Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಾ ಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಬಾಧೆಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

23 But Yahweh was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and had respect to them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಇಸಾಕನ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೃಪೆ ತೋರಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದನು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊರೆದು ಬಿಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

24 Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his place.ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಸತ್ತನು; ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.

25 Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash strike him, and recovered the cities of Israel.ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾ ಷನು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಯೆಹೋ ವಾಹಾಜನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನ ಕೈ ಯಿಂದ ತಿರಿಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೋವಾಷನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡನು.
