ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದ ಗರ್ವದ ವಿಷಯ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ರೌದ್ರವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
