ದಾವೀದನು ಚೋಬದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುವಾಗ ಇವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದನು. ಇವನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿ ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.

ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಮಸ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಿನ ಗಾಗಿ ಬೀದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕ ವನು--ಈ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳು ಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೆ ಇವನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
