பின்பு யெப்தா கீலேயாத் மனுஷரையெல்லாம் கூட்டி, எப்பிராயீமரோடு யுத்தம் பண்ணினான்; எப்பிராயீமுக்கும் மனாசேக்கும் நடுவே குடியிருக்கிற கீலேயாத்தியரான நீங்கள் எப்பிராயீமைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனவர்கள் என்று எப்பிராயீமர் சொன்னபடியினால், கீலேயாத் மனுஷர் அவர்களை முறிய அடித்தார்கள்.

அப்போது யெப்தா கீலேயாத்தின் மனிதர்களை ஒருங்கே அழைத்தான் எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்தின் மனிதர்களை எதிர்த்து அவர்கள் போரிட்டனர். எப்பிராயீம் ஜனங்கள் கீலேயாத் ஜனங்களை அவமானப்படுத்தியதால் அவர்கள் எப்பிராயீம் ஜனங்களோடு போர் செய்தனர். அவர்கள், “கீலேயாத்தின் மனிதர்களாகிய நீங்கள் எப்பிராயீம் மனிதர்களிலிருந்து பிரிந்து போனவர்கள்தான், உங்களுக்கென சொந்தமான தேசம் எதுவும் கிடையாது. உங்களில் சிலர் எப்பிராயீமையும், மற்றும் சிலர் மனாசேயையும் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்” என்று சொல்லியிருந்தனர். கீலேயாத்தின் மனிதர்கள் எப்பிராயீமின் மனிதர்களைத் தோற்கடித்தனர்.
