கர்த்தர் எமோரியரை இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்பாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிற அந்நாளிலே, யோசுவா கர்த்தரை நோக்கிப் பேசி, பின்பு இஸ்ரவேலின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக: சூரியனே, நீ கிபியோன்மேலும், சந்திரனே, நீ ஆயலோன் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலும், தரித்துநில்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

ஆயியின் ராஜாவை ஒரு மரத்திலே தூக்கி, மாலைநேரம்வரைக்கும் அதிலே தொங்கவிட்டான்; சூரியன் மறைந்தபின்பு யோசுவா அவனுடைய உடலை மரத்தைவிட்டு இறக்கச் சொன்னான்; அதைப் பட்டணத்தின் வாசலில் போட்டு, இந்த நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற பெரிய கற்குவியலை அதின்மேல் குவித்தார்கள்.

ஆயீயின் அரசனை யோசுவா ஒரு மரத்தில் தூக்கிலிட்டான். மாலையில், அரசனின் உடலை அப்புறப்படுத்துமாறு தனது ஆட்களுக்குக் கூறினான். அவர்கள் நகர வாசலுக்கு வெளியே அவனது உடலை வீசி, பின் அவ்வுடலைக் கற்களால் மூடினார்கள். கற்களின் குவியலும் இன்றளவும் அங்கேயே உள்ளது.
