जैसा तू ने देखा कि एक पत्थर किसी के हाथ के बिन खोदे पहाड़ में से उखड़ा, और उसने लोहे, पीतल, मिट्टी, चान्दी, और सोने को चूर चूर किया, इसी रीति महान् परमेश्वर ने राजा को जताया है कि इसके बाद क्या क्या होने वाला है। न स्वप्न में और न उसके फल में कुछ सन्देह है॥

Forasmuch as	כָּל	kōl	kole
	קֳבֵ֣ל	qĕbēl	keh-VALE
that	דִּֽי	dî	dee
thou sawest	חֲזַ֡יְתָ	ḥăzāʾ	huh-ZA
	דִּ֣י	dî	dee
of the mountain	מִטּוּרָא֩	ṭûr	toor
was cut out	אִתְגְּזֶ֨רֶת	gĕzar	ɡeh-ZAHR
the stone	אֶ֜בֶן	ʾeben	eh-VEN
	דִּי	dî	dee
without	לָ֣א	lāʾ	la
hands,	בִידַ֗יִן	yad	yahd
and that it brake in pieces	וְ֠הַדֶּקֶת	dĕqaq	deh-KAHK
the iron,	פַּרְזְלָ֨א	parzel	pahr-ZEL
the brass,	נְחָשָׁ֤א	nĕḥoš	neh-HOHSH
the clay,	חַסְפָּא֙	ḥăsap	huh-SAHF
the silver,	כַּסְפָּ֣א	kĕsap	keh-SAHF
and the gold;	וְדַהֲבָ֔א	dĕhab	deh-HAHV
God	אֱלָ֥הּ	ʾĕlāh	ay-LA
the great	רַב֙	rab	rahv
hath made known	הוֹדַ֣ע	yĕdaʿ	yeh-DA
to the king	לְמַלְכָּ֔א	melek	meh-LEK
what	מָ֛ה	mâ	ma
	דִּ֥י	dî	dee
shall come to pass	לֶהֱוֵ֖א	hāwāʾ	ha-VA
hereafter:	אַחֲרֵ֣י	ʾaḥar	ah-HAHR
	דְנָ֑ה	dēn	dane
certain,	וְיַצִּ֥יב	yaṣṣîb	ya-TSEEV
and the dream	חֶלְמָ֖א	ḥēlem	hay-LEM
thereof sure.	וּמְהֵימַ֥ן	ʾăman	uh-MAHN
and the interpretation	פִּשְׁרֵֽהּ׃	pĕšar	peh-SHAHR
