1 Hannah prayed, and said: My heart exults in Yahweh; My horn is exalted in Yahweh; My mouth is enlarged over my enemies; Because I rejoice in your salvation.और हन्ना ने प्रार्थना करके कहा, मेरा मन यहोवा के कारण मगन है; मेरा सींग यहोवा के कारण ऊंचा, हुआ है। मेरा मुंह मेरे शत्रुओं के विरुद्ध खुल गया, क्योंकि मैं तेरे किए हुए उद्धार से आनन्दित हूं।

2 There is none holy as Yahweh; For there is none besides you, Neither is there any rock like our God.यहोवा के तुल्य कोई पवित्र नहीं, क्योंकि तुझ को छोड़ और कोई है ही नहीं; और हमारे परमेश्वर के समान कोई चट्टान नहीं है॥

3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Don't let arrogance come out of your mouth; For Yahweh is a God of knowledge, By him actions are weighed.फूलकर अहंकार की ओर बातें मत करो, और अन्धेर की बातें तुम्हारे मुंह से न निकलें; क्योंकि यहोवा ज्ञानी ईश्वर है, और कामों को तौलने वाला है॥

4 The bows of the mighty men are broken; Those who stumbled are girded with strength.शूरवीरों के धनुष टूट गए, और ठोकर खाने वालों की कटि में बल का फेंटा कसा गया॥

5 Those who were full have hired out themselves for bread; Those who were hungry have ceased [to hunger]: Yes, the barren has borne seven; She who has many children languishes.जो पेट भरते थे उन्हें रोटी के लिये मजदूरी करनी पड़ी, जो भूखे थे वे फिर ऐसे न रहे। वरन जो बांझ थी उसके सात हुए, और अनेक बालकों की माता घुलती जाती है।

6 Yahweh kills, and makes alive: He brings down to Sheol, and brings up.यहोवा मारता है और जिलाता भी है; वही अधोलोक में उतारता और उस से निकालता भी है॥

7 Yahweh makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, he also lifts up.यहोवा निर्धन करता है और धनी भी बनाता है, वही नीचा करता और ऊंचा भी करता है।

8 He raises up the poor out of the dust, He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, Inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Yahweh's, He has set the world on them.वह कंगाल को धूलि में से उठाता; और दरिद्र को घूरे में से निकाल खड़ा करता है, ताकि उन को अधिपतियों के संग बिठाए, और महिमायुक्त सिंहासन के अधिकारी बनाए। क्योंकि पृथ्वी के खम्भे यहोवा के हैं, और उसने उन पर जगत को धरा है।

9 He will keep the feet of his holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.वह अपने भक्तों के पावों को सम्भाले रहेगा, परन्तु दुष्ट अन्धियारे में चुपचाप पड़े रहेंगे; क्योंकि कोई मनुष्य अपने बल के कारण प्रबल न होगा॥

10 Those who strive with Yahweh shall be broken to pieces; Against them will he thunder in the sky: Yahweh will judge the ends of the earth; He will give strength to his king, Exalt the horn of his anointed.जो यहोवा से झगड़ते हैं वे चकनाचूर होंगे; वह उनके विरुद्ध आकाश में गरजेगा। यहोवा पृथ्वी की छोर तक न्याय करेगा; और अपने राजा को बल देगा, और अपने अभिषिक्त के सींग को ऊंचा करेगा॥

11 Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. The child did minister to Yahweh before Eli the priest.तब एल्काना रामा को अपने घर चला गया। और वह बालक एली याजक के साम्हने यहोवा की सेवा टहल करने लगा॥

12 Now the sons of Eli were base men; they didn't know Yahweh.एली के पुत्र तो लुच्चे थे; उन्होंने यहोवा को न पहिचाना।

13 The custom of the priests with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was boiling, with a flesh-hook of three teeth in his hand;और याजकों की रीति लोगों के साथ यह थी, कि जब कोई मनुष्य मेलबलि चढ़ाता था तब याजक का सेवक मांस पकाने के समय एक त्रिशूली कांटा हाथ में लिये हुए आकर,

14 and he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the flesh-hook brought up the priest took therewith. So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there.उसे कड़ाही, वा हांडी, वा हंडे, वा तसले के भीतर डालता था; और जितना मांस कांटे में लग जाता था उतना याजक आप लेता था। यों ही वे शीलो में सारे इस्राएलियों से किया करते थे जो वहां आते थे।

15 Yes, before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man who sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have boiled flesh of you, but raw.और चर्बी जलाने से पहिले भी याजक का सेवक आकर मेलबलि चढ़ाने वाले से कहता था, कि कबाब के लिये याजक को मांस दे; वह तुझ से पका हुआ नहीं, कच्चा ही मांस लेगा।

16 If the man said to him, They will surely burn the fat first, and then take as much as your soul desires; then he would say, No, but you shall give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.और जब कोई उस से कहता, कि निश्चय चर्बी अभी जलाई जाएगी, तब जितना तेरा जी चाहे उतना ले लेना, तब वह कहता था, नहीं, अभी दे; नहीं तो मैं छीन लूंगा।

17 The sin of the young men was very great before Yahweh; for the men despised the offering of Yahweh.इसलिये उन जवानों का पाप यहोवा की दृष्टि में बहुत भारी हुआ; क्योंकि वे मनुष्य यहोवा की भेंट का तिरस्कार करते थे॥

18 But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.परन्तु शमूएल जो बालक था सनी का एपोद पहिने हुए यहोवा के साम्हने सेवा टहल किया करता था।

19 Moreover his mother made him a little robe, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.और उसकी माता प्रति वर्ष उसके लिये एक छोटा सा बागा बनाकर जब अपने पति के संग प्रति वर्ष की मेलबलि चढ़ाने आती थी तब बागे को उसके पास लाया करती थी।

20 Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, Yahweh give you seed of this woman for the petition which was asked of Yahweh. They went to their own home.और एली ने एल्काना और उसकी पत्नी को आशीर्वाद देकर कहा, यहोवा इस अर्पण किए हुए बालक की सन्ती जो उसको अर्पण किया गया है तुझ को इस पत्नी से वंश दे; तब वे अपने यहां चले गए।

21 Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before Yahweh.और यहोवा ने हन्ना की सुधि ली, और वह गर्भवती हुई ओर उसके तीन बेटे और दो बेटियां उत्पन्न हुई। और शमूएल बालक यहोवा के संग रहता हुआ बढ़ता गया।

22 Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did to all Israel, and how that they lay with the women who served at the door of the tent of meeting.और एली तो अति बूढ़ा हो गया था, और उसने सुना कि मेरे पुत्र सारे इस्राएल से कैसा कैसा व्यवहार करते हैं, वरन मिलापवाले तम्बू के द्वार पर सेवा करने वाली स्त्रियों के संग कुकर्म भी करते हैं।

23 He said to them, Why do you such things? for I hear of your evil dealings from all this people.तब उसने उन से कहा, तुम ऐसे ऐसे काम क्यों करते हो? मैं तो इन सब लोगों से तुम्हारे कुकर्मों की चर्चा सुना करता हूं।

24 No, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: you make Yahweh's people to disobey.हे मेरे बेटों, ऐसा न करो, क्योंकि जो समाचार मेरे सुनने में आता है वह अच्छा नहीं; तुम तो यहोवा की प्रजा से अपराध कराते हो।

25 If one man sin against another, God shall judge him; but if a man sin against Yahweh, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they didn't listen to the voice of their father, because Yahweh was minded to kill them.यदि एक मनुष्य दूसरे मनुष्य का अपराध करे, तब तो परमेश्वर उसका न्याय करेगा; परन्तु यदि कोई मनुष्य यहोवा के विरुद्ध पाप करे, तो उसके लिये कौन बिनती करेगा? तौभी उन्होंने अपने पिता की बात न मानी; क्योंकि यहोवा की इच्छा उन्हें मार डालने की थी।

26 The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Yahweh, and also with men.परन्तु शमूएल बालक बढ़ता गया और यहोवा और मनुष्य दोनों उस से प्रसन्न रहते थे॥

27 There came a man of God to Eli, and said to him, Thus says Yahweh, Did I reveal myself to the house of your father, when they were in Egypt [in bondage] to Pharaoh's house?और परमेश्वर का एक जन एली के पास जा कर उस से कहने लगा, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि जब तेरे मूलपुरूष का घराना मिस्र में फिरौन के घराने के वश में था, तब क्या मैं उस पर निश्चय प्रगट न हुआ था?

28 and did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?और क्या मैं ने उसे इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से इसलिये चुन नहीं लिया था, कि मेरा याजक हो कर मेरी वेदी के ऊपर चढ़ावे चढ़ाए, और धूप जलाए, और मेरे साम्हने एपोद पहिना करे? और क्या मैं ने तेरे मूलपुरूष के घराने को इस्राएलियों के कुल हव्य न दिए थे?

29 Why kick you at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in [my] habitation, and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?इसलिये मेरे मेलबलि और अन्नबलि जिन को मैं ने अपने धाम में चढ़ाने की आज्ञा दी है, उन्हें तुम लोग क्यों पांव तले रौंदते हो? और तू क्योंअपने पुत्रों का आदर मेरे आदर से अधिक करता है, कि तुम लोग मेरी इस्राएली प्रजा की अच्छी से अच्छी भेंटें खा खाके मोटे हो जाओ?

30 Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me forever: but now Yahweh says, Be it far from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.इसलिये इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि मैं ने कहा तो था, कि तेरा घराना और तेरे मूलपुरूष का घराना मेरे साम्हने सदैव चला करेगा; परन्तु अब यहोवा की वाणी यह है, कि यह बात मुझ से दूर हो; क्योंकि जो मेरा आदर करें मैं उनका आदर करूंगा, और जो मुझे तुच्छ जानें वे छोटे समझे जाएंगे।

31 Behold, the days come, that I will cut off your arm, and the arm of your father's house, that there shall not be an old man in your house.सुन, वे दिन आते हैं, कि मैं तेरा भुजबल और तेरे मूलपुरूष के घराने का भुजबल ऐसा तोड़ डालूंगा, कि तेरे घराने में कोई बूढ़ा होने न पाएगा।

32 You shall see the affliction of [my] habitation, in all the wealth which [God] shall give Israel; and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.इस्राएल का कितना ही कल्याण क्यों न हो, तौभी तुझे मेरे धाम का दु:ख देख पड़ेगा, और तेरे घराने में कोई कभी बूढ़ा न होने पाएगा।

33 The man of yours, [whom] I shall not cut off from my altar, [shall be] to consume your eyes, and to grieve your heart; and all the increase of your house shall die in the flower of their age.मैं तेरे कुल के सब किसी से तो अपनी वेदी की सेवा न छीनूंगा, परन्तु तौभी तेरी आंखें देखती रह जाएंगी, और तेरा मन शोकित होगा, और तेरे घर की बढ़ती सब अपनी पूरी जवानी ही में मर मिटेंगें।

34 This shall be the sign to you, that shall come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both of them.और मेरी इस बात का चिन्ह वह विपत्ति होगी जो होप्नी और पीनहास नाम तेरे दोनों पुत्रों पर पड़ेगी; अर्थात वे दोनों के दोनों एक ही दिन मर जाएंगे।

35 I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before my anointed forever.और मैं अपने लिये एक विश्वासयोग्य याजक ठहराऊंगा, जो मेरे हृदय और मन की इच्छा के अनुसार किया करेगा, और मैं उसका घर बसाऊंगा और स्थिर करूंगा, और वह मेरे अभिषिक्त के आगे सब दिन चला फिरा करेगा।

36 It shall happen, that everyone who is left in your house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, Please put me into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.और ऐसा होगा कि जो कोई तेरे घराने में बचा रहेगा वह उसी के पास जा कर एक छोटे से टुकड़े चान्दी के वा एक रोटी के लिये दण्डवत करके कहेगा, याजक के किसी काम में मुझे लगा, जिस से मुझे एक टुकड़ा रोटी मिले॥
