Proverbs 26 - BBE (Gujarati)

1 Like snow in summer and rain when the grain is being cut, so honour is not natural for the foolish.જેમ ઉનાળામાં હિમ, અને કાપણી કરતી વખતે વરસાદ કમોસમનો ગણાય તેમ મૂરખને સન્માન શોભતું નથી.

2 As the sparrow in her wandering and the swallow in her flight, so the curse does not come without a cause.જેમ ભટકતી ચકલી, અને જેમ ઊડતું અબાબીલ પક્ષી છે. તેમ વિનાકારણે આપેલો શાપ કોઇને માથે ઊતરતો નથી.

3 A whip for the horse, a mouth-bit for the ass, and a rod for the back of the foolish.ઘોડાને માટે ચાબૂક, અને ગધેડાને માટે લગામ હોય છે, તેમ મૂખોર્ની પીઠને માટે દંડો છે.

4 Do not give to the foolish man a foolish answer, or you will be like him.મૂર્ખને તેની મૂર્ખાઇ પ્રમાણે જવાબ ન આપવો, રખેને તું પણ તેના જેવો થઇ જાય.

5 Give a foolish man a foolish answer, or he will seem wise to himself.મૂર્ખને તેની મૂર્ખતા પ્રમાણે જ ઉત્તર આપ. જેથી તે જાણી શકે કે તે પોતાને માને છે તેટલો બુદ્ધિશાળી નથી.

6 He who sends news by the hand of a foolish man is cutting off his feet and drinking in damage.તે વ્યકિત પોતાનો પગ કાપી નાખે છે તે પોતાની જાત સાથે હિંસા કરે છે. તેવીજ રીતે જે કોઇ મૂર્ખ મારફત સંદેશો મોકલાવે છે.

7 The legs of one who has no power of walking are hanging loose; so is a wise saying in the mouth of the foolish.મુશ્કેલીઓ માગવા બરાબર છે. મૂર્ખના મોઢામાં શાણી વાત એ લંગડાના પગ જેવું નકામું છે.

8 Giving honour to a foolish man is like attempting to keep a stone fixed in a cord.જે વ્યકિત મૂર્ખને માન આપે છે, તે વ્યકિત ગોફણનો પથ્થર બાંધે.

9 Like a thorn which goes up into the hand of a man overcome by drink, so is a wise saying in the mouth of a foolish man.જેમ પીધેલાના હાથમાં કાંટાની ડાળી હોય છે તેવી જ રીતે મૂર્ખના મોઢામાં સારી વાત.

10 Like an archer wounding all who go by, is a foolish man overcome by drink.મૂર્ખને કે એક દારૂડિયાને કામે રાખનાર કોઇને પણ વીંધનાર બાણાવાળીની જેમ સૌને નુકસાન કરે છે.

11 Like a dog going back to the food which he has not been able to keep down, is the foolish man doing his foolish acts over again.જેમ કૂતરો ઓકેલું ખાવાને માટે પાછો આવે છે, તેમ મૂર્ખ કરેલી ભૂલ ફરી ફરીને કરે છે.

12 Have you seen a man who seems to himself to be wise? There is more hope for the foolish than for him.પોતે પોતાને જ્ઞાની સમજનાર માણસ કરતાં મૂર્ખ સારો, એને સુધરવાની વધારે આશા છે.

13 The hater of work says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.આળસુ બહાના કાઢે છે, “રસ્તામાં સિંહ છે, ગલીઓમાં સિંહ છે.”

14 A door is turned on its pillar, and the hater of work on his bed.જેમ બારણું તેનાઁ મિજાગરાઁ પર ફરે છે, તેમ આળસુ પથારીમાં ફર્યા કરે છે.

15 The hater of work puts his hand deep into the basin: lifting it again to his mouth is a weariness to him.આળસુ પોતાનો હાથ થાળીમાં નાખે છે ખરો; પણ તેને પાછો પોતાના મોં સુધી લાવતાં થાક લાગે છે.

16 The hater of work seems to himself wiser than seven men who are able to give an answer with good sense.હોંશિયારીથી ઉત્તર આપી શકે તેવા સાત માણસો કરતાં આળસુ પોતાની નજરે પોતાને વધારે ડાહ્યો ગણે છે.

17 He who gets mixed up in a fight which is not his business, is like one who takes a dog by the ears while it is going by.જે વ્યકિત, તેનો પોતાનો ન હોય તેવા કજિયામાં દખલ કરે છે, તે કૂતરાના કાન પકડનારના જેવો છે.

18 As one who is off his head sends about flaming sticks and arrows of death,જેઓ ખોયણાં, તીર તથા પ્રાણઘાતક વસ્તુઓ ફેંકે છે તે ઘેલો માણસ છે.

19 So is the man who gets the better of his neighbour by deceit, and says, Am I not doing so in sport?તેવી જ વ્યકિત પોતાના પડોશીને છેતરીને, ‘એ તો હું ગમત કરતો હતો.’ એમ કહેનાર છે.

20 Without wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no secret talk, argument is ended.બળતણ ન હોવાથી અગ્નિ હોલવાઇ જાય છે; અને કુથલી ખોર ન હોય ત્યાં કજિયા સમી જાય છે.

21 Like breath on coals and wood on fire, so a man given to argument gets a fight started.જેમ અંગારા કોલસાને, અને અગ્નિ લાકડાઁને સળગાવે છે; તેમ કંકાસખોર માણસ કજિયા સળગાવે છે.

22 The words of one who says evil of his neighbour secretly are like sweet food, they go down into the inner parts of the stomach.નિંદા કરનાર વ્યકિતના શબ્દો સ્વાદિષ્ટ કોળિયા જેવા લાગે છે; તે શરીરના અંતરતમ ભાગમા ઊતરી જાય છે.

23 Smooth lips and an evil heart are like a vessel of earth plated with silver waste.કુટિલ હૃદય અને મીઠી વાણી એ અશુદ્ધ ચાંદીનો ઢોળ ચઢાવેલાં માટીના વાસણ જેવો છે.

24 With his lips the hater makes things seem what they are not, but deceit is stored up inside him;ધિક્કારવા લાયક માણસ મનમાં દગો રાખે છે. પણ પોતાની વાણીથી તેને છુપાવે છે.

25 When he says fair words, have no belief in him; for in his heart are seven evils:જ્યારે તે મીઠી મીઠી વાતો કરે ત્યારે વિશ્વાસ ન કરવો, કારણ, તેના હૃદયમાં ઘણી દુષ્ટ યોજનાઓ હોય છે.

26 Though his hate is covered with deceit, his sin will be seen openly before the meeting of the people.વ્યકિત દંભથી તિરસ્કારને છુપાવે છે, પણ તેની દુષ્ટતા જાહેર સભા સામે ઉઘાડી પડી જશે.

27 He who makes a hole in the earth will himself go falling into it: and on him by whom a stone is rolled the stone will come back again.જે ખાડો ખોદે તે પડે, ને જો કોઇ વ્યકિત પથ્થર ગબડાવે તો તે પથ્થર ગબડીને તેના પર જ પાછો આવીને પડે.

28 A false tongue has hate for those who have clean hearts, and a smooth mouth is a cause of falling.જૂઠી જીભે પોતે જેઓને ઘાયલ કર્યા છે, તેમનો તે દ્વેષ કરે છે; અને ખુશામત કરનાર વ્યકિતને લોકો નકારે છે.
