Proverbs 25 - YLT (Gujarati)

1 Also these are Proverbs of Solomon, that men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed: --આ પણ સુલેમાનનાં નીતિવચનો છે. જે યહૂદિયાના રાજા હિઝિક્યાના માણસોએ ઉતારી લીધાં હતાં

2 The honour of God `is' to hide a thing, And the honour of kings to search out a matter.કોઇ બાબત ગુપ્ત રહે તેમાં દેવનો મહિમા છે, પણ કોઇ બાબત શોધી કાઢવી એમાં રાજાનો ગૌરવ છે.

3 The heavens for height, and the earth for depth, And the heart of kings -- `are' unsearchable.જેમ આકાશની ઊંચાઇ તથા પૃથ્વીની ઊંડાઇની જેમ રાજાનું મન પણ અગાધ છે.

4 Take away dross from silver, And a vessel for the refiner goeth forth,ચાંદીમાંથી નકામો ભાગ કાઢી નાખો એટલે રૂપાનો કારીગર તેમાંથી વાસણ બનાવી શકશે.

5 Take away the wicked before a king, And established in righteousness is his throne.તેમ રાજા પાસેથી દુષ્ટોને દૂર કરો એટલે તેનું સિંહાસન ન્યાયવડે સ્થિર થશે.

6 Honour not thyself before a king, And in the place of the great stand not.રાજાની હાજરીમાં પોતાની બડાઇ ન કરવી. મોટા માણસોની જગાએ ઊભા ન રહેવું.

7 For better `that' he hath said to thee, `Come thou up hither,' Than `that' he humble thee before a noble, Whom thine eyes have seen.ઉમરાવના દેખતાં તને નીચે ઉતારવામાં આવે તેના કરતાં “આમ આવો” કરીને ઉપર બેસાડે એ વધું સારું છે.

8 Go not forth to strive, haste, turn, What dost thou in its latter end, When thy neighbour causeth thee to blush?તેં જે જોયું હોય તેને વિશે ન્યાયાલયે દોડી જવામાં ઉતાવળ ન કરીશ, કારણ, જ્યારે તને તારો પડોશી, ખોટો સાબિત કરશે તો તું શું કરીશ?

9 Thy cause plead with thy neighbour, And the secret counsel of another reveal not,તારા પડોશી સાથેના વિવાદનું જરૂર તું નિરાકરણ કર, પણ બીજા કોઇની ગુપ્ત વાત ખુલ્લી ન કરતો.

10 Lest the hearer put thee to shame, And thine evil report turn not back.રખેને એ સાંભળી જનાર તારી નિંદા કરે અને તારી કાયમની બદનામી થાય.

11 Apples of gold in imagery of silver, `Is' the word spoken at its fit times.પ્રસંગને અનુસરીને બોલેલો શબ્દ રૂપાની ટોપલીમાંનાં સોનાનાં ફળ જેવો છે.

12 A ring of gold, and an ornament of pure gold, `Is' the wise reprover to an attentive ear.જ્ઞાની વ્યકિતનો ઠપકો કાને ધરનારને માટે સોનાની કડી અને સોનાના ઘરેણાં જેવા છે.

13 As a vessel of snow in a day of harvest, `So is' a faithful ambassador to those sending him, And the soul of his masters he refresheth.વફાદાર સંદેશાવાહક તેના મોકલનાર માટે ઉનાળામાં બરફ જેવો શીતલ હોય તેના જેવો લાગે છે, તે પોતાના ધણીના આત્માને ફરીથી તાજો કરે છે.

14 Clouds and wind, and rain there is none, `Is' a man boasting himself in a false gift.જે એમ કહે છે કે તે ભેટ આપશે, પણ કોડીય આપતો નથી, તે વરસાદ વગરના વાદળ અને વાયુ જેવો છે.

15 By long-suffering is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh a bone.લાંબી મુદતની સહનશીલતાથી અધિકારીને પણ કદાચ મનાવી શકાય, અને કોમળ જીભ હાંડકાને ભાગે છે.

16 Honey thou hast found -- eat thy sufficiency, Lest thou be satiated `with' it, and hast vomited it.જો તને મધ મળ્યું હોય, તો જોઇએ તેટલું જ ખા; કારણકે જો તું વધારે પડતું ખાઇશ તો તું વમન કરીશ.

17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house, Lest he be satiated `with' thee, and have hated thee.તું તારા પડોશીના ઘરમાં કવચિત જ જા; નહિ તો તે તારાથી કંટાળીને તારો ધિક્કાર કરશે.

18 A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, `Is' the man testifying against his neighbour a false testimony.પોતાના પડોશી વિરૂદ્ધ જૂઠી સાક્ષી પૂરનાર માણસ હથોડી, તરવાર તથા તીક્ષ્ણ તીર જેવો છે.

19 A bad tooth, and a tottering foot, `Is' the confidence of the treacherous in a day of adversity.સંકટસમયે ધોખાબાજ માણસ પર મૂકેલો વિશ્વાસ સડેલા દાંત અને ઊતરી ગયેલા પગ જેવો છે.

20 Whoso is taking away a garment in a cold day, `Is as' vinegar on nitre, And a singer of songs on a sad heart.ઊદાસ વ્યકિતની આગળ ગીતો ગાવાં તે ઠંડીમાં અંગ પરથી વસ્ત્ર કાઢી લેવા જેવું છે, અથવા ઘા ઉપર સરકો રેડવા જેવું છે.

21 If he who is hating thee doth hunger, cause him to eat bread, And if he thirst, cause him to drink water.જો તારો શત્રુ ભૂખ્યો હોય તો તેને ખાવા માટે રોટલો આપ. અને તરસ્યો હોય તો પીવા માટે પાણી આપ.

22 For coals thou art putting on his head, And Jehovah giveth recompense to thee.એમ કરવાથી તું તેના માથા ઉપર સળગતો કોલસો મૂકતો હોઇશ. અને યહોવા તને તેનો બદલો આપશે.

23 A north wind bringeth forth rain, And a secret tongue -- indignant faces.ઉત્તરનો પવન વરસાદ લાવે છે; તેમ જ ચાડીખોર જીભ ક્રોધિત ચહેરો ઉપજાવે છે.

24 Better to sit on a corner of a roof, Than `with' a woman of contentions, and a house of company.કજિયાખોર સ્ત્રીની સાથે ઘરમાં અંદર રહેવાં કરતાં ધાબાના ખૂણામાં વાસ કરવો સારો છે.

25 `As' cold waters for a weary soul, So `is' a good report from a far country.દૂર દેશથી આવતા શુભ સમાચાર તરસ્યા ગળા માટે શીતલ પાણી જેવા લાગે છે.

26 A spring troubled, and a fountain corrupt, `Is' the righteous falling before the wicked.જે સજ્જન માણસ દુષ્ટ માણસની સામે પડે છે તે ડહોળાયેલા ઝરણા કે ઝેર ભરેલા કૂવા જેવો છે.

27 The eating of much honey is not good, Nor a searching out of one's own honour -- honour.વધુ પડતું મધ ખાવું સારું નહિ, પોતાની મોટાઇ પોતે ગાવામાં મોટાઇ નથી.

28 A city broken down without walls, `Is' a man without restraint over his spirit!જે વ્યકિત પોતાની જાત પર કાબૂ ધરાવતો નથી તે માણસ કોટ વગરના નગર જેવો છે.
