Proverbs 11 - ASV (Gujarati)

1 A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah; But a just weight is his delight.ખોટાં ત્રાજવાનો યહોવાને ગુસ્સો છે. પણ સાચાં કાટલાં જોઇ તેને આનંદ થાય છે.

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame; But with the lowly is wisdom.અહંકાર આવે એટલે અપમાન આવ્યું જ જાણવું; પણ નમ્રતા જ્યાં હોય ત્યાં જ્ઞાન હોય છે.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them; But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.પ્રામાણિક માણસની વિશ્વસનીયતા તેને દોરેે છે, પણ ધોખેબાજની વક્રતા તેના દુષ્ટ ઇરાદાને છુપાવે છે.

4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death.જ્યારે દેવ કોપાયમાન થાય ત્યારે સંપત્તિ કામ નહિ આવે, પણ પ્રામાણિકતા વ્યકિતને મોતથી ઉગારે છે.

5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way; But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.પ્રામાણિક માણસની નીતિમત્તા તેનો માર્ગ સાફ કરે છે, પણ ખરાબ વ્યકિતની દુષ્ટતા જ તેને પાયમાલ કરે છે.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity.માણસો પોતાની ભલાઈથી બચી જશે. પરંતુ કપટ કરનારા તેમની પોતાની ઇચ્છાઓની જ જાળમાં ફસાય છે.

7 When a wicked man dieth, `his' expectation shall perish; And the hope of iniquity perisheth.દુષ્ટ માણસનું મોત આવતાં તેની અભિલાષાનો અંત આવે છે, તેણે પોતાની સંપત્તિમાં રાખેલી આશાનો પણ અંત આવે છે.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, And the wicked cometh in his stead.સદાચારી લોકો સંકટમાંથી ઊગરી જાય છે અને તેને બદલે દુષ્ટો તેમાં ફસાય છે.

9 With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor; But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.દુષ્ટ માણસ પોતાની વાણીથી પડોશીઓનો નાશ નોતરે છે. પરંતુ ન્યાયી તેના જ્ઞાનવડે બીજાઓને ઉગારે છે.

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth; And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.ન્યાયી વ્યકિત સફળ થાય છે ત્યારે આખું નગર હરખાય છે; અને દુષ્ટોનો નાશ થાય છે ત્યારે હર્ષના નાદ સંભળાય છે.

11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted; But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.સદાચારીના આશીર્વાદથી નગરની ઉન્નતિ થાય છે, પણ દુરાચારીની વાણીથી તેનો નાશ થાય છે.

12 He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.જે વ્યકિત પોતાના પડોશી માટે ખરાબ બોલે છે તેનામાં અક્કલ હોતી નથી. પણ સમજુ માણસ મૂંગો રહે છે.

13 He that goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; But he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter.કૂથલી ખોર વ્યકિત છૂપી વાત બહાર પાડી દે છે, પણ વિશ્વાસુ વ્યકિત રહસ્ય સાચવે છે.

14 Where no wise guidance is, the people falleth; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.જ્યાં આગેવાન અજ્ઞાન હોય, ત્યાં પ્રજા નાશ પામે છે. અનેક સલાહકારોમાં સુરક્ષા રહેલી છે.

15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it; But he that hateth suretyship is secure.અજાણ્યાના જામીન થનારને વેઠવું પડે છે; જે બાયંધરી લેવાનું ટાળે છે તે સુરક્ષિત છે.

16 A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches.સુશીલ સ્ત્રી આબરૂને સાચવી રાખે છે; અને જુલમી માણસો દ્રવ્ય સાચવી રાખે છે.

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.દયાળુ માણસ પોતાની જાતનું ભલું કરે છે, પણ ક્રૂર માણસ પોતાના દેહને દુ:ખમાં નાખે છે;

18 The wicked earneth deceitful wages; But he that soweth righteousness `hath' a sure reward.દુષ્ટ કમોર્ કરનાર પોતાનો જૂઠાણાનો પગાર મેળવે છે પણ જે નીતિમત્તાનું બીજ વાવે છે તે સાચો હોવા બદલ વળતર મેળવે છે.

19 He that is stedfast in righteousness `shall attain' unto life; And he that pursueth evil `doeth it' to his own death.જે નીતિમત્તાને ‘હા’ પાડે છે તે જીવશે; પણ જે ખરાબ વસ્તુઓનો પીછો કરે છે તે પોતાનું જ મોત આમંત્રે છે.

20 They that are perverse in heart are an abomination to Jehovah; But such as are perfect in `their' way are his delight.યહોવા માટે કપટી લોકો ઘૃણાસ્પદ છે; પણ જેઓ નીતિમત્તાથી જીવે છે તેઓ તેને આનંદરુપ છે.

21 `Though' hand `join' in hand, the evil man shall not be unpunished; But the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.ખાતરી રાખજો દુષ્ટને સજા થયા વગર નહિ રહે, પણ સદાચારીઓનાં સંતાનો સજામાથી છટકી જશે.

22 `As' a ring of gold in a swine's snout, `So is' a fair woman that is without discretion.અક્કલ વગરની સુંદર સ્ત્રીની સુંદરતા ભૂંડના નાકમાં સોનાની નથણી જેવી છે.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good; `But' the expectation of the wicked is wrath.ભલા માણસોની ઇચ્છાઓ સારી વસ્તુઓમાં પરિણમે છે, પરંતુ દુષ્ટોની ઇચ્છાઓ ફકત ગુસ્સામાંજ વિરમે છે.

24 There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but `it tendeth' only to want.કોઇ છૂટે હાથે આપે તોય વધે છે, કોઇ વધુ પડતી કરકસર કરે તોયે કંગાળ થાય છે.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat; And he that watereth shall be watered also himself.જે બીજાને આશીર્વાદ આપે છે તે સમૃદ્ધ થાય છે.

26 He that withholdeth grain, the people shall curse him; But blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.અનાજ સંઘરી રાખનારને લોકો શાપ દે છે, પણ વેચનાર ઉપર આશીર્વાદ વરસાવે છે.

27 He that diligently seeketh good seeketh favor; But he that searcheth after evil, it shall come unto him.જેઓ ભલું શોધે છે તેઓ ઇશ્વરની કૃપા મેળવે છે. ખોટું શોધે છે તેનું ખોટું થાય છે.

28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.જેઓ પોતાની સંપત્તિ ઉપર વિશ્વાસ કરે છે તેઓ વિનાશને આરે જઇને પડે છે, પણ સદાચારી તંદુરસ્ત છોડની જેમ ફૂલેફાલે છે.

29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; And the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.જે પોતાના જ કુટુંબને દુ:ખી કરે છે, તે કંઇ નહિ મેળવે. અને મૂર્ખ માણસ જ્ઞાનીનો દાસ બનશે.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; And he that is wise winneth souls.ન્યાયી માણસ જે કરે તે જીવનનાં ઝાડ સમાન છે. પણ શાણો માણસ બીજા આત્માઓને બચાવે છે.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: How much more the wicked and the sinner!નીતિમાંન લોકોને ભલાઇનો બદલો મળતો હોય તો દુષ્ટો અને પાપીને તો બદલો મળે જ મળે.
