પછી ઈસુ તેના શિષ્યો સાથે ગેથશેમા નામની જગ્યાએ ગયો. ઈસુએ તેના શિષ્યોને કહ્યું, “જ્યારે હું ત્યાં જાઉં અને પ્રાર્થના કરું ત્યાં સુધી તમે અહી બેસો.”

પછી ઈસુ તેઓથી થોડે દૂર ચાલ્યો ગયો. અને ઈસુએ ઊંધે મોઢે પડીને એવી પ્રાર્થના કરી કે, “ઓ મારા બાપ, જો શક્ય હોય તો મને આ દુ:ખનો પ્યાલો આપીશ નહિ, પરંતુ તારી ઈચ્છા પ્રમાણે કર, મારી ઈચ્છા પ્રમાણે નહિ.”

ઈસુએ શહેર છોડ્યું અને જૈતૂન પહાડ પરની જગ્યાએ પહોંચ્યો. તેના શિષ્યો તેની સાથે ગયા. (ઈસુ ત્યાં વારંવાર જતો.)
