Lamentations 1:10

પોતાના દુ:ખ સંતાપનાં દિવસોમાં, યરૂશાલેમ અતીતની સમૃદ્ધિ સંભારે છે. તેના લોકો શત્રુના હાથમાં પડ્યા છે. કોઇ તેની સાથે જનાર નથી તેથી શત્રુઓ તેની પાયમાલી જોઇ ઉપહાસ કરે છે.

તમારાં પવિત્ર નગરો અત્યારે નિર્જન પ્રદેશ જેવા થઇ ગયા છે, સિયોન વેરાન થઇ ગયું છે. યરૂશાલેમ ઉજ્જડ અરણ્ય થઇ ગયું છે.

Ezekiel 9:7
પછી દેવે તેઓને કહ્યું, “મંદિરને ષ્ટ કરો. હત્યા થયેલાઓનાં મૃતદેહોથી મંદિરનો ચોક ભરી દો.” અને હમણાં જ જાઓ, એટલે તેમણે શહેરમાં જઇને લોકોની હત્યા કરી.

તેઓ મારા મંદિરને ષ્ટ કરશે ત્યારે હું તે તરફથી મારું મુખ અવળું ફેરવી લઇશ અને તેઓને અટકાવીશ નહિ, લૂંટારુઓ એમાં પ્રવેશ કરશે અને તેને ષ્ટ કરશે.

ખાલદીઓ મંદિરમાંના પ્રવેશદ્વાર પાસે ઊભા કરેલા કાંસાના બે મોટા સ્તંભોને, કાંસાના હોજને અને પૈડાવાળી ઘોડીઓને ઉપાડીને બાબિલ લઇ ગયા.

હું તમારી મિલકતોને અને ખજાનાઓને લૂંટાવી દઇશ. લોકોએ આના માટે કશું ભરવું નહી પડે. આનુ કારણ એ છે કે આખા દેશમાં તમે બધાયે મારી વિરુદ્ધ આચરેલા પાપ.
