ગિલયાદની પત્નીને પણ પુત્રો હતાં અને જયારે તેઓ મોટા થયા, ત્યારે તેમણે યફતાને એમ કહીને કાઢી મૂકયો, “અમાંરા પિતાના વારસામાં તારો કશો ભાગ નથી. કારણ, તું બીજી સ્ત્રીનો પુત્ર છે.”

તે દિવસો દરમ્યાન દેશમાં દુકાળ હતો. વરસાદ પડતો ન હતો અને કોઇ પણ જાતનું અનાજ ઊગતું ન હતું. તેથી ઇબ્રામ જીવતો રહેવા માંટે થોડા સમય માંટે મિસર ગયો.

એ તારું ભૂંડી સ્ત્રીથી રક્ષણ કરશે અને, અપવિત્ર સ્ત્રીની લોભામણી વાણીથી ઉગારી લેશે.

પરતું પવિત્રશાસ્ત્ર શું કહે છે? “ગુલામ સ્ત્રી અને તેના પુત્રને કાઢી મૂક! મુક્ત સ્ત્રીનો પુત્ર તેના પિતા પાસે છે તે બધું જ મેળવશે. પરંતુ ગુલામ સ્ત્રીના પુત્રને કશું જ મળશે નહિ.
