પરંતુ આ હુમલા દરમ્યાન ઇસ્રાએલના 36 માંણસો માંર્યા ગયા; અને બાકીનાને નગરના દરવાજાથી તે છેક (શબારીમ) પથ્થરની ખાણોસુધી પીછો કરવામાં આવ્યો અને ઢોળાવ પર તેઓને માંરી નાખવામાં આવ્યાં.આથી ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ તેમની હિમ્મત ગુમાંવી દીધી અને તેઓ ભયભીત થઈ ગયા.
