1 For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.નિયમશાસ્ત્ર ભવિષ્યમાં આવનારા શુભ કાર્યોની પ્રતિછાયારૂપ છે અને તે વસ્તુઓની ખરી પ્રતિમાઓ તેમાં નથી. દર વર્ષે એના એ જ બલિદાનો સતત અર્પણ કરવામાં આવતાં હતાં, છતાં નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે કોઈ વ્યક્તિ પરિપૂર્ણ થઈ શકી નથી.

2 Or else wouldn't they have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?જો જૂના નિયમે લોકોને પરિપૂર્ણ બનાવ્યો હોત તો પછી તેઓએ બલિદાન આપવાનું બંધ કર્યુ હોત. તેઓ સદાને માટે શુદ્ધ થઈ ગયા હોત અને તેઓએ તેમના પાપો માટે દોષિત થવું પડ્યું ના હોત. પરંતુ નિયમશાસ્ત્ર તે કરી શક્યું નહિ.

3 But in those sacrifices there is yearly reminder of sins.પરંતુ એ વાર્ષિક બલિદાનો તો તેમના મનમાં દર વર્ષે પાપોની યાદ તાજી કરાવે છે.

4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.કારણ કે ગોધાઓનું તથા બકરાઓનું લોહી પાપ દૂર કરવા સમર્થ નથી.

5 Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, "Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire, But a body did you prepare for me;આથી જ્યારે ખ્રિસ્ત આ દુનિયામાં આવ્યો, ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું:“હે દેવ પશુઓનુ રક્ત તને પ્રસન્ન કરી શકે તેમ નથી. પણ તેં મારા માટે શરીર બનાવ્યું છે.

6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you had no pleasure.પાપોની માફીને અર્થ અપાતું દહનાર્પણ તથા પાપાર્થાર્પણથી તું કઈ પ્રસન્ન થતો નહોતો.

7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (In the scroll of the book it is written of me) To do your will, God.'"તેથી તેમણે કહ્યું,‘હે દેવ, હું અહીં શાસ્ત્રમાં મારા સંબધી લખ્યા પ્રમાણે તારી ઇચ્છા પૂર્ણ કરવા હું અહીં છું.”‘ ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 40:6-8

8 Previously saying, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn't desire, neither had pleasure in them" (those which are offered according to the law),પ્રથમ ખ્રિસ્તે કહ્યું છે, “શાસ્ત્રમાં અપાતાં પાપમુક્તિ માટેનાં અર્પણો તથા દહનાર્પણોથી અપાતાં બલિદાનો દ્ધારા તું પ્રસન્ન થઈ શકે તેમ નથી,” (આ બધા બલિદાનોની આજ્ઞા નિયમ કરે છે.)

9 then he has said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,પછી તેણે કહ્યું, ‘હે દેવ! હું આ રહ્યો, તારી ઇચ્છા પૂર્ણ કરવા હું આવ્યો છું.” આ પ્રમાણે તેણે જૂની વ્યવસ્થા રદ કરી અને નવી વ્યવસ્થા સ્થાપી.

10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.દેવીની ઈચ્છા મુજબ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં કાર્યો પ્રમાણે એક જ વાર ખ્રિસ્તનું શરીર અર્પણ થયાથી આપણને પવિત્ર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે.

11 Every priest indeed stands day by day ministering and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,તેમ જ દરેક યાજક નિત્ય સેવા કરતાં તથા એ ને એ જ બલિદાનો ઘણીવાર અર્પણ કરતા. પરંતુ તે બલિદાનોથી પાપોને કદી દૂર કરી શક્યા નહિ.

12 but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;પણ આપણાં પાપોને માટે ખ્રિસ્તે એક જ વાર બલિદાન આપ્યું અને ખ્રિસ્ત દેવની જમણી બાજુએ બિરાજ્યો.

13 from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.અને તેના દુશમનોને તેની સત્તા નીચે મૂકવામાં આવે તેથી ખ્રિસ્ત હવે ત્યાં રાહ જોઈ રહ્યો છે.

14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.જેઓને પવિત્ર કરવામાં આવે છે તેઓને ખ્રિસ્તે પોતાના એક જ બલિદાનથી બધા જ સમય માટે પરિપૂર્ણ કર્યા.

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,આ વિષે પવિત્ર આત્મા પણ સાક્ષી આપે છે. તે પહેલા કહે છે:

16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them: 'After those days,' says the Lord, 'I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;'" then he says,“આ કરાર છે જે ભવિષ્યમાં હું મારા લોકો સાથે કરીશ એમ પ્રભુ કહે છે. હું મારા નિયમો તેઓના હ્રદય પર લખીશ. હું મારા નિયમો તેઓના મનમાં સ્થાપીશ.” યર્મિયા 31:33

17 "I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more."પછી તે કહે છે:“તેઓના પાપકર્મો અને દુષ્કર્મોને હું માફ કરીશ અને ભવિષ્યમાં તે હું કદી યાદ કરીશ નહિ.” યર્મિયા 31:34

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.અને હવે સદાને માટે પાપ માફ થયાં છે ત્યારે પાપ મુક્તિ માટે અન્ય કોઈ અર્પણની જરુંર રહેતી નથી.

19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,ભાઈઓ, તેણે આપણા માટે પડદામાં થઈને, એટલે પોતાના શરીરમાં થઈને, એક નવો તથા જીવતો માર્ગ ઉઘાડ્યો છે, આપણે કોઈ પણ જાતના ભય વિના દાખલ થઈ શકીશું.

20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;ઈસુએ જે નવો માર્ગ બતાવ્યો તે દ્ધારા આપણે અંદર જઇ શકીશું.

21 and having a great priest over the house of God,દેવના ઘરમાં રાજ કરવા માટે આપણી પાસે એક મોટો યાજક નિમાયેલો છે.

22 let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,આપણને શુદ્ધ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. અને આપણું અંત:કરણ દોષિત લાગણીઓથી મુક્ત છે. આપણા શરીરનું શુદ્ધ પાણીથી સ્નાન કરાવવામાં આવ્યું છે તેથી શુદ્ધ હ્રદયથી અને ખાતરી જે વિશ્વાસ દ્ધારા પ્રાપ્ત થયેલ છે માટે આપણે દેવની નજીક આવી શકીએ છીએ.

23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope unyieldingly. For he who promised is faithful.જે આશાઓમાં આપણે સંમત છીએ તેને આપણે મક્કમતાથી વળગી રહીએ, કારણ કે જેણે આપણને વચન આપ્યું છે તેનો સંપૂર્ણ ભરોસો આપણે કરી શકીએ છીએ.

24 Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,આપણે અકબીજાનો વિચાર કરવો જોઈએ અને સારા કામ કરી અને પ્રેમ દર્શાવી એકબીજાને એ પ્રમાણે કરવા માટે ઉત્તેજન આપીએ.

25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.જેમ કેટલાક લોકો કરે છે તેમ આપણે સમૂહમાં મળવાનું પડતું ન મૂકીએ, પણ આપણે સમૂહમાં મળીએ અને એકબીજાને બળ આપીએ, આ પ્રમાણે આપણે કરવાનું વધુ અને વધુ પ્રયત્ન કરીએ કારણ દહાડોનજીકને નજીક આવી રહ્યો છે.

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,સત્યનું જ્ઞાન થયા પછી જો આપણે પાપમાં જીવવાનું ચાલું રાખીએ, તો પાપના નિવારણ માટે બીજુ બલિદાન છે જ નહિ.

27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.જો આપણે પાપ કરવાનું ચાલુ જ રાખીશું તો ન્યાયની ભયંકર અપેક્ષા અને દેવના વિરોધિઓને ભસ્મ કરી નાખે એવા અગ્નિના તેઓ ભોગ બનશે.

28 A man who disregards Moses' law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.જો કોઈ મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રનો ભંગ કરે અને તે બે કે ત્રણ સાક્ષીઓ દ્ધારા પૂરવાર થાય તો તેને માફી નહિ આપતા કોઈ પણ દયા વગર મોતની સજા થતી હતી.

29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?તો પછી દેવપુત્રને પગ તળે કચડી નાખનાર, કરારના જે રક્તથી પવિત્ર થયો હતો તેને અશુદ્ધ ગણનાર કૃપાનું ભાન કરાવનાર પવિત્ર આત્માનું અપમાન કરનાર વ્યક્તિ કેટલી ભયંકર સજાને પાત્ર ઠરશે તેનો વિચાર કરો.

30 For we know him who said, "Vengeance belongs to me," says the Lord, "I will repay." Again, "The Lord will judge his people."આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે દેવે કહ્યું છે, “દુષ્ટ કૃત્યોકરનારને હું શિક્ષા કરીશ, હું તેને ભરપાઇ કરીશ.” દેવે એ પણ કહ્યું છે કે, “પ્રભુતેના લોકોનો ન્યાય કરશે.”

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.કોઈના પણ માટે જીવતા દેવના હાથમાં પડવું તે કેટલું ભયંકર છે!

32 But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;યાદ રાખો. ભૂતકાળના તે દિવસોમાં જ્યારે તમે સત્યનું જ્ઞાન પ્રાપ્ત કર્યુ ત્યારે તમે ઘણી યાતનાઓ સહન કરી સંઘર્ષ કર્યો, પરંતુ તમે બળવાન બનવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું.

33 partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.ઘણીવાર તમે ઠપકો અને સતાવણી થઈ તે સહન કરી. વળી કેટલીક વાર બીજાંઓને એવાં દુ:ખોમાંથી પસાર થતા જોઈને તમે તેઓની પડખે ઊભા રહ્યા.

34 For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.હા, જ્યારે કેટલાક લોકો કરાવાસમાં હતા, ત્યારે તેવા લોકોને તમે મદદ કરી તેમના દુ:ખના ભાગીદાર બન્યા. તમારું સર્વસ્વ પડાવી લેવામાં આવ્યું ત્યારે પણ તમે આનંદિત રહ્યા કારણ કે તમે જાણતા હતા કે તમારી પાસે એના કરતાં વધુ સારી અને સદા ને માટે ટકી રહે તેવી સંપત્તિ છે.

35 Therefore don't throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.માટે ભૂતકાળમાં હતી તે હિંમત ગુમાવશો નહિ કારણ કે તમને એનો મહાન બદલો મળવાનો છે.

36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.તમારે ધીરજ રાખવાની જરુંર છે. દેવની ઈચ્છા પૂરી કરવાનું કાર્ય ચાલુ રાખો. અને તેથી જ તમને જે વચનો આપ્યા છે તે પ્રાપ્ત કરશો.

37 "In a very little while, He who comes will come, and will not wait.થોડા સમયમાં, “પ્રભુ જે ફરીથી આવનાર છે તે વિલંબ કરશે નહિ.

38 But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."ન્યાયી માણસ મારામાં વિશ્વાસ રાખીને જીવશે. જો તે ભયનો માર્યો પાછો હટી જશે તો પછી તેનામાં મને આનંદ થશે નહિ.” હબાક્કુક 2:3-4

39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.પણ આપણે એ પ્રકારના માણસો નથી, જે પીછે હઠ કરે અને ખોવાઇ જાય. ના. આપણે એવા લોકો છીએ કે દેવમાં આપણને દઢ વિશ્વાસ છે અને તેનામાં આપણે ઉદ્ધાર પામેલાં છીએ.
