Ezekiel 15
1 ત્યાર બાદ મને યહોવાની વાણી સંભળાઇ:
2 “હે મનુષ્યના પુત્ર, દ્રાક્ષાવેલાનું લાકડું જંગલમાંની ઝાડની ડાળીના લાકડાં કરતાં કઇ રીતે સારું ગણાય?
3 એના લાકડામાંથી શું કશું બને છે? માણસ એમાંથી એક ખીંટી પણ બનાવી શકે છે, જેના પર કશું લટકાવી શકાય?
4 એને બળતણ તરીકે અગ્નિમાં નાખવામાં આવે છે ત્યારે તેના બંને છેડા સળગવા લાગે છે અને વચ્ચેનો ભાગ ખાખ થઇ જાય છે. પછી એ શા કામમાં આવે?
5 બળતણ તરીકે વપરાયા અગાઉ પણ તે બિનઉપયોગી હતું, હવે અગ્નિએ તેને બાળીને ભસ્મ કર્યું છે, ત્યારે તેમાંથી શું ઉપયોગી ચીજ બની શકે?
6 આથી યહોવા મારા માલિક કહે છે; જેમ મેં દ્રાક્ષાવેલને લાકડા કરતાં વધારે બિનઉપયોગી બનાવ્યું છે, અગ્નિમાં ઇંધણ તરીકે વપરાતા કોઇ પણ લાકડાં કરતા પણ બિન ઉપયોગી, તે પ્રમાણે હું યરૂશાલેમના લોકોનું પણ કરીશ.
7 હું તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ થઇ જઇશ, તેઓ એક આગમાંથી બચી જશે તોપણ તેઓ બીજી વારની આગમાં બળી મરશે. ત્યારે તેમને ખબર પડશે કે હું યહોવા છું.
8 એ લોકો મને વિશ્વાસઘાતી નીવળ્યા છે, તેઓ મૂર્તિઓની પૂજા કરે છે માટે હું તેઓના દેશને ઉજ્જડ કરી નાખીશ.” એમ યહોવા મારા માલિક કહે છે.
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?
3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work?
5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?
6 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.
8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord God.
