Ecclesiastes 10 - DBY (Gujarati)

1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to stink [and] ferment; [so] a little folly is weightier than wisdom [and] honour.જેમ મરેલી માખીઓ મઘમઘતા અત્તરને દૂષિત કરી દે છે; તેવી જ રીતે થોડી મૂર્ખાઇ બુદ્ધિ અને સન્માનને નબળું પાડી દે છે.

2 The heart of a wise [man] is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.બુદ્ધિમાન માણસનું હૃદય તેને સાચી દિશા બાજુએ દોરે છે; પણ મૂર્ખનું એ જ હૃદય તેને ખોટી અને મૂર્ખ બાજુ પર દોરે છે.

3 Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his sense faileth [him], and he saith to every one [that] he is a fool.વળી મૂર્ખ પોતાને રસ્તે જાય છે ત્યારે તેની બુદ્ધિ ખૂટી જાય છે; અને તે દરેક ને કહે છે કે હું મૂર્ખ છું.

4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for quietness pacifieth great offences.જ્યારે તારો શાશક તારા પર ગુસ્સે થાય તો તું ત્યાંથી નાસી ન જતો. કારણ કે તું જે સાંત્વન લાવે છે તેનાથી મોટા પાપો વડે થયેલો ગુસ્સો પણ ઠંડો પડી જાય છે.

5 There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, as an error [that] proceedeth from the ruler:મેં આ દુનિયામાં એક અનર્થ જોયો છે, અને તે છે કે શકિતશાળી શાશક દ્વારા થયેલી ભૂલ;

6 folly is set in great dignities, but the rich sit in a low place.મૂર્ખાને મોટી સત્તાઓ મળે છે જ્યારે ધનવાનોને નીચા સ્થળે લાવવામાં આવે છે!

7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.મેં ગુલામોને ઘોડે સવાર થયેલા અને રાજકર્તાઓને ગુલામોની જેમ પગે ચાલતા જોયા છે.

8 He that diggeth a pit falleth into it; and whoso breaketh down a hedge, a serpent biteth him.જે ખાડો ખોદે છે તે જ તેમાં પડે છે! અને જે વાડમાં છીંડુ પાડે છે તેને સાપ કરડે છે.

9 Whoso removeth stones is hurt therewith; he that cleaveth wood is endangered thereby.જે પથ્થરની શિલા તેને જે ખસેડે છે તેને જ ઇજા પહોચાડે અને કઠિયારાને લાકડું જ ભયમાં મૂકી દે.

10 If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he apply more strength; but wisdom is profitable to give success.બુઠ્ઠી કુહાડી વાપરવામાં ધારદાર કરતા વધારે શકિતની જરૂર પડે છે; તે ડહાપણ તમને તમારું કામ સરળ કરવામાં મદદ કરે છે.

11 If the serpent bite before enchantment, then the charmer hath no advantage.સાપ જો તેને મંત્રથી વશ કર્યા પહેલા જ કરડી જાય તો મદારી નકામો છે.

12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool swallow up himself.ડહાપણભર્યા શબ્દો મનને આનંદ આપે છે, પણ મૂર્ખના બોલ તેનો પોતાનો જ નાશ નોતરે છે.

13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is folly; and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.તેનાં મૂખના શબ્દોનો આરંભ મૂર્ખાઇ છે; અને તેના બોલવાનું પરિણામ નુકસાનકારક ગાંડપણ છે.

14 And the fool multiplieth words: [yet] man knoweth not what shall be; and what shall be after him, who will tell him?મૂર્ખ માણસ વધારે બોલે છે, પણ ભવિષ્ય વિષે કોઇ જાણતું નથી. પણ કોઇ કહી શકે તેમ નથી કે કાલે શું થવાનું છે?

15 The labour of fools wearieth them, because they know not how to go to the city.કામ મૂર્ખને થકવી નાખે છે જે નગરમાં જવાનો પોતાનો રસ્તો પણ શોધી શકતો નથી.

16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!જે દેશનો રાજા બાળક જેવો નાદાન હોય; અને જેના સરદારો સવારમાં ઉજાણીઓ માણે છે તે દેશનો ઉદ્ધાર અશક્ય છે!

17 Happy art thou, O land, when thy king is a son of nobles, and thy princes eat in [due] season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!એ દેશને આશીર્વાદ છે જેનો રાજા ઉમદા ગુણ લક્ષણ વાળો છે અને જેના નેતાઓ વધુ પડતું ખાતા નથી કે પીધેલ હોતા નથી.

18 By much sloth fulness the framework falleth in; and through idleness of the hands the house drippeth.આળસથી છાપરું નમી પડે છે; અને આળસુ હાથ ઘરમાં છિદ્ર વાટે ચૂવા દે છે.

19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh life merry; but money answereth everything.ઉજાણી મોજમજાને માટે ગોઠવવામાં આવે છે, અને દ્રાક્ષારસ જીવનને ખુશી આપે છે. પૈસાથી બધું જ મળે છે.

20 Curse not the king, no, not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for the bird of the air will carry the voice, and that which hath wings will tell the matter.રાજાને કે ધનવાનને તારા મનમાં પણ શાપ ન આપીશ; કારણ કે, વાયુચર પક્ષી તે સાંભળીને વાત લઇ જાય છે.
