Amos 1:11
યહોવા કહે છે: “અદોમના લોકોએ વારંવાર પાપ કર્યા છે અને હું તેમને ભૂલી જઇશ નહિ. હું તેને શિક્ષા કર્યા વિના છોડીશ નહિ. તેણે દયાને નેવે મૂકીને હાથમાં તરવાર લઇને પોતાના જાતભાઇઓ યાકૂબના વંશજોનો પીછો કર્યો હતો. તેનો ક્રોધ સદા ભભૂકતો જ રહ્યો. તેનો રોષ કદી શમ્યો જ નહિ,

| turn away | אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ | ʾăšîbennû | uh-shee-VEH-noo |
| because thereof; punishment the | עַל | ʿal | al |
| he did pursue | רָדְפ֨וֹ | rodpô | rode-FOH |

| did tear | לָעַד֙ | lāʿad | la-AD |
| perpetually, | אַפּ֔וֹ | ʾappô | AH-poh |
| kept he and | וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ | wĕʿebrātô | veh-ev-ra-TOH |
| his wrath | שְׁמָ֥רָה | šĕmārâ | sheh-MA-ra |
| for ever: | נֶֽצַח׃ | neṣaḥ | NEH-tsahk |
