પરંતુ સરૂયાનો પુત્ર અબીશાય દાઉદનું રક્ષણ કરવા આવી પહોંચ્યો.તેણે પેલા પલિસ્તીઓ પર હુમલો કરીને તેને માંરી નાખ્યો, ત્યાર બાદ દાઉદના માંણસોએ તેને આગ્રહ કર્યો કે, “હવે કદી તમાંરે અમાંરી સાથે યુદ્ધમાં આવવું નહિ, ઇસ્રાએલનો દીવો હોલવાઈ જાય તેવું જોખમ અમાંરે શા માંટે લેવું?”
