પણ થયું એવું કે એક જણ લાકડા કાપતો હતો, એવામાં તેની કુહાડી જળમાં પડી ગઇ; તે બોલી ઊઠયો, “ગુરુજી, એ કુહાડી તો કોઈની માંગી લાવેલી હતી!”

બીજે દિવસે વહેલી સવારે એલિશાનો ચાકર વહેલો ઊઠયો અને બહાર ગયો, તો તેણે એક સૈન્યની ટુકડીને રથો અને ઘોડાઓ સહિત શહેરને ઘેરો ઘાલીને પડેલી જોઈ, તે બોલી ઊઠયો, “હે શેઠ, હવે તમે શું કરશો?”

પછી સ્રીએ જઈને દેવના માંણસને આ વાત જણાવી એટલે દેવના માંણસે તેને કહ્યું, “તું જઈને એ તેલ વેચીને તારું દેવું ભરપાઈ કરી દેજે, અને જે નાણાં બાકી રહે તે તારા બાળકો માંટે રાખી લેજે.”
