4 મોઆબનો રાજા મેશા ઘેટાં ઉછેરતો હતો, અને તે ઇસ્રાએલના રાજાને નિયમિત એક લાખ ઘેટાંનાં બચ્ચાં અને એક લાખ ઘેટાનું ઊન વસુલીરૂપે આપતો હતો.
5 જયારે આહાબ મૃત્યુ પામ્યો ત્યારે મોઆબના રાજાએ ઇસ્રાએલના રાજા સામે બળવો કર્યો,
6 એટલે યહોરામ રાજાએ સમરૂનથી બહાર નીકળીને ઇસ્રાએલના બધા માંણસોને યુદ્ધ માંટે ભેગા કર્યાં.
7 પછી તેણે યહૂદાના રાજાને સંદેશો મોકલ્યો કે, “મોઆબના રાજાએ માંરી સામે બળવો કર્યો છે. મોઆબ પર હુમલો કરવામાં તમે મને સાથ આપશો?”તેણે જવાબ આપ્યો, “જરૂર, આપણે બે કંઈ જુદા નથી; માંરા સૈનિકો એ તમાંરા જ સૈનિકો છે, માંરા ઘોડા એ તમાંરા જ ઘોડા છે.
4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
