1 Chronicles 11:10

એટલે યશાઇએ તેને લાવવા માંણસ મોકલ્યો, તે દેખાવે રૂપાળો હતો, તેનો ચહેરો લાલ અને આંખો તેજસ્વી હતી.યહોવાએ કહ્યું, “તે પસંદ કરાયેલો છે. ઊઠ, અને એનો અભિષેક કર.”

તે સમય દરમ્યાન આબ્નેરે ઇસ્રાએલના આગેવાનો સાથે વાટાઘાટ કરી હતી. “તમેે કયારના દાઉદ તમાંરો રાજા થાય તેમ ઈચ્છતા આવ્યા છો.

પછી આબ્નેરે દાઉદ ને કહ્યું: “મને તુરંત જવા દો અને બધા ઇસ્રાએલીઓને તમાંરી પાસે લાવવા દો, જેથી માંરા ધણી, માંરા રાજા તમાંરી સાથે કરાર કરે અને તમાંરી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાંણે તમે સમગ્ર ઇસ્રાએલ પર રાજ કરશો.” ત્યાર બાદ દાઉદે આબ્નેરને જવા દીધો અને પોતે શાંતિથી ગયો.
2 Samuel 23:8
દાઉદના સૈન્યના શ્રેષ્ઠ શૂરવીરોમાં પ્રથમ ત્રણ આ પ્રમાંણે છે: પ્રથમ તાહખમોની યોશેબ-બાશ્શેબેથ, જે વીર-ત્રિપુટીનો નાયક હતો, એક યુદ્ધમાં એણે ભાલો ચલાવીને 800 માંણસોનો સંહાર કર્યો હતો.’

આ સર્વ યોદ્ધા શસ્ત્ર સાથે શજ્જ થઇને દાઉદને ઇસ્રાએલનો રાજા બનાવવાના એકમાત્ર હેતુથી હેબ્રોન આવ્યા હતા. એકંદરે ઇસ્રાએલના સર્વ નેતાઓ આવું ઇચ્છતા હતા.
