1 சிலநாள் சென்றபின்பு, சிம்சோன் கோதுமை அறுக்கிற நாட்களில் ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, தன் பெண்சாதியைக் காணப்போய்; நான் என் பெண்சாதியினிடத்தில் அறைவீட்டிற்குள் போகட்டும் என்றான்; அவள் தகப்பனோ, அவனை உள்ளே போக ஒட்டாமல்: But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.

4 புறப்பட்டுப்போய், முந்நூறு நரிகளைப் பிடித்து, பந்தங்களை எடுத்து, வாலோடே வால் சேர்த்து, இரண்டு வால்களுக்கும் நடுவே ஒவ்வொரு பந்தத்தை வைத்துக் கட்டி, And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.

And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.

Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

9 அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர் போய், யூதாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கி, லேகி என்கிற வெளியிலே பரவியிருந்தார்கள். Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.

10 நீங்கள் எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக வந்தது என்ன என்று யூதா மனுஷர் கேட்டதற்கு, அவர்கள்: சிம்சோன் எங்களுக்குச் செய்ததுபோல, நாங்களும் அவனுக்குச் செய்யும்படி அவனைக் கட்டுகிறதற்காக வந்தோம் என்றார்கள். And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.

11 அப்பொழுது யூதாவிலே மூவாயிரம் பேர் ஏத்தாம் ஊர்க் கன்மலைச் சந்திற்குப்போய் பெலிஸ்தர் நம்மை ஆளுகிறார்கள் என்று தெரியாதா? பின்னை ஏன் எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தாய் என்று சிம்சோனிடத்தில் சொன்னார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர்கள் எனக்குச் செய்தபடியே நானும் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்தேன் என்றான். And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.

And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

13 அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் உன்னை இறுகக்கட்டி, அவர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்போமே அல்லாமல், உன்னை கொன்றுபோடமாட்டோம் என்று சொல்லி, இரண்டு புதுக் கயிறுகளாலே அவனைக் கட்டி, கன்மலையிலிருந்து கொண்டுபோனார்கள். And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.

And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

16 அப்பொழுது சிம்சோன்: கழுதையின் தாடையெலும்பினால் குவியல் குவியலாகப் பட்டுக்கிடக்கிறார்கள், கழுதையின் தாடையெலும்பினால் ஆயிரம்பேரைக் கொன்றேன் என்றான். And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

17 அப்படிச் சொல்லித் தீர்ந்தபின்பு, தன் கையில் இருந்த தாடையெலும்பை எறிந்துவிட்டு, அவ்விடத்திற்கு ராமாத்லேகி என்றுபேரிட்டான். And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.

18 அவன் மிகவும் தாகமடைந்து, கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு: தேவரீர் உமது அடியேன் கையினால் இந்தப் பெரிய இரட்சிப்பைக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்க, இப்பொழுது நான் தாகத்தினால் செத்து, விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்கள் கையிலே விழவேண்டுமோ என்றான். And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

19 அப்பொழுது தேவன் லேகியிலுள்ள பள்ளத்தைப் பிளக்கப்பண்ணினார்; அதிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் ஓடிவந்தது; அவன் குடித்தபோது அவன் உயிர் திரும்ப வந்தது. அவன் பிழைத்தான்; ஆனபடியால் அதற்கு எந்நக்கோரி என்று பேரிட்டான்; அது இந்நாள்வரையும் லேகியில் இருக்கிறது. But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.

6 Ippatich seythavan yaar entu pelisthar kaetkirapothu, thimnaaththaanutaiya marumakanaakiya simsonthaan; avanutaiya pennsaathiyai avanutaiya sinaekithanukkuk koduththuvittapatiyaal appatich seythaan entarkal; appoluthu pelisthar poy, avalaiyum aval thakappanaiyum akkiniyaal sutteriththaarkal. Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

7 Appoluthu simson avarkalai Nnokki: neengal ippatich seythapatiyaal naan ungal kaiyilae palivaanginaaloliya ilaippaaraேn entu solli, And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.

8 Avarkalaich sinnapinnamaakach sangaarampannnni, pinpu poy, aeththaam oork kanmalaich santhilae kutiyirunthaan. And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.

9 Appoluthu pelisthar poy, yoothaavilae paalayamirangi, laeki enkira veliyilae paraviyirunthaarkal. Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.

10 Neengal engalukku virothamaaka vanthathu enna entu yoothaa manushar kaettatharku, avarkal: simson engalukkuch seythathupola, naangalum avanukkuch seyyumpati avanaik kattukiratharkaaka vanthom entarkal. And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.

11 Appoluthu yoothaavilae moovaayiram paer aeththaam oork kanmalaich santhirkuppoy pelisthar nammai aalukiraarkal entu theriyaathaa? Pinnai aen engalukku ippatich seythaay entu simsonidaththil sonnaarkal. Atharku avan: avarkal enakkuch seythapatiyae naanum avarkalukkuch seythaen entan. Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? 14 Avan laekivaraikkum vanthu sernthapothu, pelisthar avanukku virothamaay aaravaaram pannnninaarkal appoluthu karththarutaiya aavi avan mael palamaay iranginathinaal, avan puyangalil kattiyiruntha kayiraுkal neruppuppatta noolpolaaki, avan kattukal avan kaikalai vittu araுnthu poyittaு. And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

15 Udanae avan oru kaluthaiyin pachchaைth thaataiyelumpaik kanndu, than kaiyai neetti athai eduththu, athinaalae aayiram paeraik kontupottan. And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.

16 Appoluthu simson: kaluthaiyin thaataiyelumpinaal kuviyal kuviyalaakap pattukkidakkiraarkal, kaluthaiyin thaataiyelumpinaal aayirampaeraik konten entan. And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

17 Appatich sollith theernthapinpu, than kaiyil iruntha thaataiyelumpai erinthuvittu, avvidaththirku raamaathlaeki entupaerittan. And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.

18 Avan mikavum thaakamatainthu, karththarai Nnokkik kooppittu: thaevareer umathu atiyaen kaiyinaal inthap periya iratchippaik kattalaiyittirukka, ippoluthu naan thaakaththinaal seththu, viruththasethanam illaathavarkal kaiyilae vilavaenndumo entan.
