1 கர்த்தருடைய தாசனாகிய மோசே மரித்தபின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேயின் ஊழியக்காரனான நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவை நோக்கி: Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2 என் தாசனாகிய மோசே மரித்துப்போனான்; இப்பொழுது நீயும் இந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்து, இந்த யோர்தானைக்கடந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு நான் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள் Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3 நான் மோசேக்குச் சொன்னபடி உங்கள் காலடி மிதிக்கும் எவ்விடத்தையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன். Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4 வனாந்தரமும் இந்த லீபனோனும் தொடங்கி ஐபிராத்து நதியான பெரிய நதிமட்டுமுள்ள ஏத்தியரின் தேசம் அனைத்தும், சூரியன் அஸ்தமிக்கிற திசையான பெரிய சமுத்திரம்வரைக்கும் உங்கள் எல்லையாயிருக்கும். From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5 நீ உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் ஒருவனும் உனக்கு முன்பாக எதிர்த்து நிற்பதில்லை: நான் மோசேயோடே இருந்ததுபோல, உன்னோடும் இருப்பேன்; நான் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை, உன்னைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6 பலங்கொண்டு திடமனதாயிரு; இந்த ஜனத்தின் பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தை நீ இவர்களுக்குப் பங்கிடுவாய். Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7 என் தாசனாகிய மோசே உனக்குக் கற்பித்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியெல்லாம் செய்யக் கவனமாயிருக்கமாத்திரம் மிகவும் பலங்கொண்டு திடமனதாயிரு; நீ போகும் இடமெல்லாம் புத்திமானாய் நடந்துகொள்ளும்படிக்கு, அதை விட்டு வலது இடதுபுறம் விலகாதிருப்பாயாக. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகம் உன் வாயைவிட்டுப் பிரியாதிருப்பதாக; இதில் எழுதியிருக்கிறவைகளின்படியெல்லாம் நீ செய்யக் கவனமாயிருக்கும்படி, இரவும் பகலும் அதைத் தியானித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பாயாக; அப்பொழுது நீ உன் வழியை வாய்க்கப்பண்ணுவாய், அப்பொழுது புத்திமானாகவும் நடந்துகொள்ளுவாய். This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடவில்லையா? பலங்கொண்டு திடமனதாயிரு; திகையாதே, கலங்காதே, நீ போகும் இடமெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னோடே இருக்கிறார் என்றார். Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

10 அப்பொழுது யோசுவா ஜனங்களின் அதிபதிகளை நோக்கி: Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

11 நீங்கள் பாளயத்தை உருவ நடந்துபோய், ஜனங்களைப் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்குப் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரிக்கக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தை நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, இன்னும் மூன்று நாளைக்குள்ளே இந்த யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான். Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

12 பின்பு யோசுவா: ரூபனியரையும் காத்தியரையும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாரையும் நோக்கி: And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,

13 கர்த்தருடைய தாசனாகிய மோசே உங்களுக்குக் கற்பித்த வார்த்தையை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களை இளைப்பாறப்பண்ணி, இந்த தேசத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தாரே. Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.

14 உங்கள் பெண்சாதிகளும் பிள்ளைகளும் மிருகஜீவன்களும், மோசே உங்களுக்கு யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்திலே கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் இருக்கட்டும்; உங்களிலுள்ள யுத்தவீரர் யாவரும் உங்கள் சகோதரருக்கு முன்பாக அணியணியாகக் கடந்துபோய், Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;

15 கர்த்தர் உங்களைப்போல உங்கள் சகோதரரையும் இளைப்பாறப்பண்ணி, அவர்களும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுமட்டும், அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யக்கடவீர்கள்; பின்பு நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய தாசனாகிய மோசே உங்களுக்கு யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியன் உதிக்கும் திசைக்கு நேராகக் கொடுத்த உங்கள் சுதந்தரமான தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்பி, அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பீர்களாக என்றான். Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD's servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.

16 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யோசுவாவுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறதையெல்லாம் செய்வோம்; நீர் எங்களை அனுப்பும் இடமெங்கும் போவோம். And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.

17 நாங்கள் மோசேக்குச் செவிகொடுத்ததுபோல உமக்கும் செவிகொடுப்போம்; உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்மாத்திரம் மோசேயோடே இருந்ததுபோல, உம்மோடும் இருப்பாராக. According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

18 நீர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடும் சகல காரியத்திலும் உம்முடைய சொல்லைக்கேளாமல், உம்முடைய வாக்குக்கு முரட்டாட்டம்பண்ணுகிற எவனும் கொலைசெய்யப்படக்கடவன்; பலங்கொண்டு திடமனதாய்மாத்திரம் இரும் என்றார்கள். Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

1 Karththarutaiya thaasanaakiya Moses mariththapinpu, Karththar Mosesyin ooliyakkaaranaana noonin kumaaran yosuvaavai Nnokki: Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2 En thaasanaakiya Moses mariththupponaan; ippoluthu neeyum intha janangal ellaarum elunthu, intha yorthaanaikkadanthu, Israel puththirarukku naan kodukkum thaesaththukkup pongal Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3 Naan Moseskkuch sonnapati ungal kaalati mithikkum evvidaththaiyum ungalukkuk koduththaen. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4 Vanaantharamum intha leepanonum thodangi aipiraaththu nathiyaana periya nathimattumulla aeththiyarin thaesam anaiththum, sooriyan asthamikkira thisaiyaana periya samuththiramvaraikkum ungal ellaiyaayirukkum. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5 Nee uyirotirukkum naalellaam oruvanum unakku munpaaka ethirththu nirpathillai: naan Mosesyotae irunthathupola, unnodum iruppaen; naan unnaivittu vilakuvathumillai, unnaik kaividuvathumillai. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6 Palangaொnndu thidamanathaayiru; intha janaththin pithaakkalukku naan koduppaen entu aannaiyitta thaesaththai nee ivarkalukkup pangiduvaay. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7 En thaasanaakiya Moses unakkuk karpiththa niyaayappiramaanaththinpatiyellaam seyyak kavanamaayirukkamaaththiram mikavum palangaொnndu thidamanathaayiru; nee pokum idamellaam puththimaanaay nadanthukollumpatikku, athai vittu valathu idathupuram vilakaathiruppaayaaka. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 Intha niyaayappiramaana pusthakam un vaayaivittup piriyaathiruppathaaka; ithil eluthiyirukkiravaikalinpatiyellaam nee seyyak kavanamaayirukkumpati, iravum pakalum athaith thiyaaniththukkonntiruppaayaaka; appoluthu nee un valiyai vaaykkappannnuvaay, appoluthu puththimaanaakavum nadanthukolluvaay. 9 Naan unakkuk kattalaiyidavillaiyaa? Palangaொnndu thidamanathaayiru; thikaiyaathae, kalangaathae, nee pokum idamellaam un thaevanaakiya Karththar unnotae irukkiraar entar. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

10 Appoluthu yosuvaa janangalin athipathikalai Nnokki: Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

11 Neengal paalayaththai uruva nadanthupoy, janangalaip paarththu: ungalukkup pojanapathaarththangalai aayaththampannnungal; ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar ungalukkuch suthantharikkak kodukkum thaesaththai neengal suthanthariththukkollumpatikku, innum moontu naalaikkullae intha yorthaanaik kadanthupoveerkal entu sollachchaொnnaan. 12 Pinpu yosuvaa: roopaniyaraiyum kaaththiyaraiyum manaaseyin paathikkoththiraththaaraiyum Nnokki: And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,

14 Ungal pennsaathikalum pillaikalum mirukajeevankalum, Moses ungalukku yorthaanukku ippuraththilae koduththa thaesaththil irukkattum; ungalilulla yuththaveerar yaavarum ungal sakothararukku munpaaka anniyanniyaakak kadanthupoy, Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;

15 Karththar ungalaippola ungal sakothararaiyum ilaippaarappannnni, avarkalum ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar thangalukkuk kodukkum thaesaththaich suthanthariththukkollumattum, avarkalukku uthaviseyyakkadaveerkal; pinpu neengal karththarutaiya thaasanaakiya Moses ungalukku yorthaanukku ippuraththil sooriyan uthikkum thisaikku naeraakak koduththa ungal suthantharamaana thaesaththukkuth thirumpi, athaich suthanthariththukkonntiruppeerkalaaka entan. 16 Appoluthu avarkal yosuvaavukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: neer engalukkuk kattalaiyidukirathaiyellaam seyvom; neer engalai anuppum idamengum povom. And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.

17 Naangal Moseskkuch sevikoduththathupola umakkum sevikoduppom; ummutaiya thaevanaakiya Karththarmaaththiram Mosesyotae irunthathupola, ummodum iruppaaraaka. According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

18 Neer engalukkuk kattalaiyidum sakala kaariyaththilum ummutaiya sollaikkaelaamal, ummutaiya vaakkukku murattattampannnukira evanum kolaiseyyappadakkadavan; palangaொnndu thidamanathaaymaaththiram irum entarkal. Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
