பின்பு பூமியின்மேல் ஜலம் குறைந்து போயிற்றோ என்று அறியும்படி, ஒரு புறாவைத் தன்னிடத்திலிருந்து வெளியே விட்டான்.

நோவா ஒரு புறாவையும் வெளியே அனுப்பினான். அது தான் தங்கிட ஒரு வறண்ட இடத்தைக் கண்டுக்கொள்ளும் என எண்ணினான். இதன் மூலம் பூமியில் தண்ணீர் வற்றிவிட்டதா என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம் என நினைத்தான்.
