தாவீது சாதோக்கைக்கொண்டு எலெயாசாரின் புத்திரரையும், அகிமெலேக்கைக்கொண்டு இத்தாமாரின் புத்திரரையும் அவர்கள் செய்யவேண்டிய ஊழியத்துக்கு முறைப்படி அவர்களை வகுத்தான்.

எலெயாசர், இத்தாமார் ஆகிய இரண்டு கோத்திரங்களையும் வேறு வேறு குழுக்களாக தாவீது பிரித்து வைத்தான். தமக்கு ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்ட வேலைகளைச் சரிவரச் செய்யும் பொருட்டு தாவீது இக்குழுக்களை இவ்விதம் பிரித்தான். தாவீது இதனை சாதோக், அகிமெலேக் ஆகியோரின் உதவியைக் கொண்டு இவ்வாறு செய்தான். சாதோக் எலெயாசாரின் சந்ததியைச் சேர்ந்தவன். அகிமெலேக்கு இத்தாமாரின் சந்ததியைச் சேர்ந்தவன்.
