বার্তাবাহকরা অহসিয়কে উত্তর দিল, “এই লোকটা একটা রোমশ কোট পরেছিল আর ওর কোমরে একটা চামড়ার কটিবন্ধ ছিল|”তখন অহসিয় বললেন, “এ হল তিশ্বীয এলিযা!”

য়োহন এলীয়েরআত্মায় ও শক্তিতে প্রভুর আগে চলবে৷ সে পিতাদের মন তাদের সন্তানদের দিকে ফেরাবে, আর অধার্মিকদের মনের ভাব বদলে ধার্মিক লোকদের মনের ভাবের মতো করবে৷ প্রভুর জন্য সে এইভাবে লোকদের প্রস্তুত করবে৷’
