যুদ্ধের সৈন্যাধ্যক্ষদের ওপর তিনি সাধারণ লোকদের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের দায়িত্ব দিলেন| তিনি শহরের প্রবেশ পথে এই সমস্ত সৈন্যাধ্যক্ষদের সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাদের উত্সাহ দিয়ে বললেন, “শক্তিশালী এবং সাহসী হও|

And he set	וַיִּתֵּ֛ן	wayyittēn	va-yee-TANE
captains	שָׂרֵ֥י	śārê	sa-RAY
of war	מִלְחָמ֖וֹת	milḥāmôt	meel-ha-MOTE
over	עַל	ʿal	al
people, the	הָעָ֑ם	hāʿām	ha-AM
and gathered them together	וַיִּקְבְּצֵ֣ם	wayyiqbĕṣēm	va-yeek-beh-TSAME
to	אֵלָ֗יו	ʾēlāyw	ay-LAV
in him	אֶל	ʾel	el
the street	רְחוֹב֙	rĕḥôb	reh-HOVE
of the gate	שַׁ֣עַר	šaʿar	SHA-ar
city, the of	הָעִ֔יר	hāʿîr	ha-EER
and spake	וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר	waydabbēr	vai-da-BARE
comfortably	עַל	ʿal	al
	לְבָבָ֖ם	lĕbābām	leh-va-VAHM
to them, saying,	לֵאמֹֽר׃	lēʾmōr	lay-MORE
