நீர் அவர்களுக்குச் சம்மதிக்கவேண்டாம்; அவர்களில் நாற்பதுபேர்க்கு அதிகமானவர்கள் அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யுமளவும் தாங்கள் புசிப்பதுமில்லை குடிப்பதுமில்லையென்று சபதம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, அவனுக்குப் பதிவிருந்து, உம்முடைய உத்தரவுக்காக இப்பொழுது காத்துக்கொண்டு ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

ஆனால் அவர்களை நம்பாதீர்கள் 40 பேருக்கும் மேலான யூதர்கள் ஒளிந்திருந்து பவுலைக் கொல்லக் காத்திருப்பர். அவனைக் கொல்லும் வரைக்கும் உண்பதோ, பருகுவதோ இல்லை என்று அவர்கள் சபதமிட்டுள்ளனர். உங்கள் சம்மதத்திற்காக இப்போது அவர்கள் தயாராகக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்” என்றான்.
