ஆனாலும் ஒலிவமரத்தை உலுக்கும்போது நுனிக்கொம்பிலே இரண்டுமூன்று காய்களும் காய்க்கிற அதின் கிளைகளிலே நாலைந்து காய்களும் மீதியாயிருப்பதுபோல, அதிலே பின்பறிப்புக்குக் கொஞ்சம் மீதியாயிருக்குமென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

“ஜனங்கள் ஒலிவமரத்தில் அறுவடை செய்வதுபோன்று அந்தக் காலம் இருக்கும். ஜனங்கள் ஒலிவ மரத்திலிருந்து ஒலிவக் காய்களைப் பறிப்பார்கள். மரத்தின் உச்சியில் சில ஒலிவக் காய்களை அவர்கள் விட்டுவைப்பார்கள். நான்கு அல்லது ஐந்து ஒலிவக் காய்களை அவர்கள் உயரத்திலுள்ள கிளைகளில் விட்டுவிடுவார்கள். இதுபோலவே அந்த நகரங்களுக்கும் ஏற்படும்.” சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தர் இவற்றைக் கூறினார்.
