இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் நடுவே நான் வாசம்பண்ணி, அவர்களுக்குத் தேவனாயிருப்பேன்.

அன்றையதினம் அகாஸ்வேரு ராஜா யூதர்களின் விரோதியாக இருந்த ஆமானின் வீட்டை ராணியாகிய எஸ்தருக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; மொர்தெகாய் ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக வந்தான்; அவன் தனக்கு இன்ன உறவு என்று எஸ்தர் அறிவித்திருந்தாள்.

அதே நாளில், அகாஸ்வேரு அரசன், எஸ்தர் அரசியிடம் யூதரின் எதிரியாக இருந்த ஆமானின் அத்தனை உடமைகளையும் கொடுத்தான். எஸ்தர், அரசனிடம் மொர்தெகாய் தனது உறவினன் என்று சொன்னாள். பிறகு மொர்தெகாய் அரசனைப் பார்க்க வந்தான்.
