அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஒரு மனிதன் எங்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டுவந்து: நீங்கள் உங்களை அனுப்பின ராஜாவிடம் திரும்பிப்போய், இஸ்ரவேலிலே தேவன் இல்லையென்றா நீ எக்ரோனின் தேவனாகிய பாகால்சேபூவிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கப்போகிறாய்; இதனால் நீ ஏறின கட்டிலிலிருந்து இறங்காமல் நிச்சயமாக மரணமடைவாய் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்பதை அவனிடம் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்கள் அவனிடம், “ஒருவன் எங்களைச் சந்தித்தான். உங்களை அனுப்பிய அரசனிடமே திரும்பிச்சென்று, கர்த்தர் சொல்லும் வார்த்தைகளை சொல்லுங்கள் என்று அவன் திருப்பி அனுப்பினான். கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறார்: ‘இஸ்ரவேலுக்குள் தேவன் இருக்க, எக்ரோனின் தேவனாகிய பாகால் சேபூபிடம் ஏன் கேள்வி கேட்க அரசன் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பினான்? இவ்வாறு செய்ததால் நீ உடல் நலம் தேறாமல் படுத்தபடுக்கையிலேயே மரித்துவிடுவாய்’” என்றனர்.

அதற்கு அவர்கள் மறுமொழியாக, “வழியில் ஓர் ஆள் எங்களைச் சந்தித்து, ‘நீங்கள் உங்களை அனுப்பின அரசனிடம் போய், ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: இஸ்ரயேலுக்குக் கடவுள் இல்லை என்றா, நீ எக்ரோனின் தெய்வமாகிய பாகால் செபூபிடம் குறிகேட்க ஆள் அனுப்புகிறாய்? நீ கிடக்கும் படுக்கையிலிருந்து எழுந்திருக்க மாட்டாய்; அங்கேயே செத்துப் போவாய்; இது உறுதி! என்று சொல்லுங்கள்’ என்றார்” என்று கூறினர்.
