அப்பொழுது தேசத்து ஜனங்கள் ஆமோன் என்னும் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டுப்பாடுபாண்ணின யாவரையும் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோசியாவை அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.

யோசியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது எட்டுவயதாயிருந்து, முப்பத்தொரு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்.

அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாகாசை அழைத்து, அவனை எருசலேமிலே அவன் தகப்பன் ஸ்தானத்திலே ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்.
