அவர்கள் அவனை மகா வேதனைக்குள்ளானவனாக விட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு, அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவுடைய குமாரரின் இரத்தப்பழியினிமித்தம், அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டுப்பாடுபண்ணி, அவன் படுக்கையிலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்; செத்துப்போன அவனைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ராஜாக்களின் கல்லறைகளில் அவனை வைக்கவில்லை.

ஆராமியர்கள் யோவாசைவிட்டுப் போகும்போது அவன் பெருத்த காயம் அடைந்திருந்தான். யோவாசின் சொந்த வேலைக்காரர்களும் அவனுக்கெதிராகத் திட்டமிட்டனர். அவன் யோய்தா ஆசாரியனின் மகனான சகரியாவைக் கொன்றான் என்பதனால் அவர்கள் இதைச் செய்தார்கள். வேலைக்காரர்கள் யோவாசை அவனுடைய படுக்கையிலேயே கொன்று போட்டனர். யோவாஸ் மரித்ததும், அவனை தாவீதின் நகரத்திலேயே அடக்கம் செய்தனர். ஆனால் அரசர்களை அடக்கம் செய்யும் இடத்தில் அவனை அடக்கம் செய்யவில்லை.
