இந்த நடபடிக்குப்பின்பு, யெரொபெயாம் தன் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்பாமல், மறுபடியும் ஜனத்தில் ஈனமானவர்களை மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியராக்கினான்; எவன் மேல் அவனுக்கு மனதிருந்ததோ அவனைப் பிரதிஷ்டைப்பண்ணினான்; அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் மேடைகளின் ஆசாரியரானார்கள்.
