యెహోవా మనకు ఏ దేశమును ఇచ్చెదనని వారి పితరులతో ప్రమా ణముచేసెనో, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించు ఆ దేశమును తాను వారికి చూపింపనని యెహోవా ప్రమాణము చేసి యుండెను గనుక ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వచ్చిన ఆ యోధు లందరు యెహోవా మాట వినకపోయినందున వారు నశించువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నలువది సంవత్సరములు అరణ్యములో సంచరించుచు వచ్చిరి.
