Exodus 17:5
అందుకు యెహోవా నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలలో కొందరిని తీసికొని ప్రజలకు ముందుగా పొమ్ము; నీవు నదిని కొట్టిన నీ కఱ్ఱను చేత పట్టుకొని పొమ్ము

| the people, | הָעָ֔ם | hāʿām | ha-AM |
| and take | וְקַ֥ח | wĕqaḥ | veh-KAHK |
| with | אִתְּךָ֖ | ʾittĕkā | ee-teh-HA |
| elders the of thee | מִזִּקְנֵ֣י | mizziqnê | mee-zeek-NAY |
| of Israel; | יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| and thy rod, | וּמַטְּךָ֗ | ûmaṭṭĕkā | oo-ma-teh-HA |
| wherewith | אֲשֶׁ֨ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| smotest thou | הִכִּ֤יתָ | hikkîtā | hee-KEE-ta |
