ముప్పది రెండువేల రథములతో వచ్చునట్లు జీతమిచ్చి మయకారాజును అతని జనులను కుదుర్చుకొనిరి; వీరు వచ్చి మేదెబా ముందరితట్టున దిగిరి, అమ్మోనీయులు తమతమ పట్టణములలోనుండి కూడుకొని యుద్దముచేయుటకు వచ్చిరి.
