Luke 14:28
“ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੈਠਕੇ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਖਰਚਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਲਗਾਉਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਧਨ ਹੈ।

“ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਨਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉਸਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬੁਰਜ ਉਸਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਛੁੰਹਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਿੱਲਰਾਂਗੇ।”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ।
ਮੱਤੀ 20:22
ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਝੱਲ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਝੱਲਣੇ ਹਨ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਝੱਲ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ!”
