ਆਕਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ ਆਕਾਨ ਵਲਦ ਕਰਮੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜ਼ਬਦੀ ਦਾ ਪੋਤਾ ਸੀ। ਆਕਾਨ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਲਈਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਬਚਣਗੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰਾਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਜਸੂਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।

ਜ਼ਰਹ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਸਨ: ਜ਼ਿਮਰੀ, ਏਥਾਨ, ਹੇਮਾਨ, ਕਲਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਰਾ।
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 7:20
ਆਕਾਨ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਹ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ! ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ:

ਸਾਵੱਧਾਨ ਰਹੋ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਸਾਵੱਧਾਨ ਰਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੌੜੀ ਬੂਟੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
੧ ਕੁਰਿੰਥੀਆਂ 5:1
ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਲੋਕ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਅਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਯਵਨਾਹ 1:7
ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ? ਤਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗੁਣੇ ਸੁੱਟਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।” ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਣੇ ਪਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਸੀ।
ਦਾਨੀ ਐਲ 9:7
“ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਨੇਕ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈ! ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਾਂ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਨ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ-ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਿੰਡਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਵਾਈਜ਼ 9:18
ਸਿਆਣਪ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਪਾਪੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ
ਅਜ਼ਰਾ 9:6
ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ: “ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੀਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਥੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਕਾਰਣ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਆਣ ਪਏ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਦਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭੈੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਮੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰ।”
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 22:18
ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ! ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ? ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟੋਂਗੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 22:16
“ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹਨ: ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਣਾਈ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਿਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ!
