1 ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਰਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਤੂੰ ਬਿਰਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

2 ਤੂੰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੀਕ ਗਸ਼ੂਰ ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।

3 ਤੂੰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਸ਼ੀਹੋਰ ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਾਲੇ ਰਾਜਾ, ਅਸ਼ਦੋਦ, ਅਸ਼ਕਲੋਨ, ਗਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਵੇ।

4 ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ੇਕਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਦੋਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੀਮਾ ਤਾਈਂ।

5 ਤੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਗਿਬਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਹਰਮੋਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬਆਲ ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਲੇਬੋ ਹਾਮਥ ਤੱਕ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ।

6 “ਸੀਦੋਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰਫ਼ੋਥ ਮਯਿਮ ਤੱਕ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਉਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੰਡੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ। ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

7 ਹੁਣ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨੌ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਵੰਡੇ।”

8 ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਰਊਬੇਨ, ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਲੈ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।

9 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਅਰੋਏਰ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਦਬਾ ਤੋਂ ਦੀਬੋਨ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ।

10 ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ, ਸੀਹੋਨ, ਹਕੂਮਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

11 ਗਿਲਆਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਗਸ਼ੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਆਕਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ। ਹਰਮੋਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਲਕਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਉਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ।

12 ਰਾਜੇ ਓਗ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਉਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ। ਰਾਜਾ ਓਗ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰਈ ਵਿਖੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਓਗ ਰਫ਼ਾਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ। ਅਤੀਤ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਸੀ।

13 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਸ਼ੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਆਕਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਬਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

14 ਇੱਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਸਦੀ ਬਜਾਇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਮ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

15 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ:

16 ਇਹ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਅਰੋਏਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੇਦਬਾ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚਾਲੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਬਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ।

17 ਧਰਤੀ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨੀ ਕਸਬੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ: ਦੀਬੋਨ, ਬਾਮੋਥ, ਬਆਲ, ਬੈਤ ਬਆਲ ਮਓਨ,

18 ਯਹਸਾਹ ਕਦੇਮੋਥ, ਮੇਫ਼ਆਥ,

19 ਕਿਰਯਾਥਇਮ, ਸਿਬਮਾਹ, ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ।

20 ਬੈਤ ਪਓਰ, ਪਿਸਗਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਸ਼ਿਮੋਥ।

21 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨੀ ਕਸਬੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ: ਅੱਵੀ, ਰਕਮ, ਸ਼ੂਰ, ਹੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਬਾ। (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਨਾਲ ਰਲਕੇ ਲੜੇ ਸਨ।) ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

22 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਓਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਲਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਬਿਲਆਮ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਦੂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।) ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

23 ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਖਤਮ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਸਨ।

24 ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ:

25 ਯਜ਼ੇਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਅਰੋਏਰ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਅੰਮੋਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

26 ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਗਮਥ ਮਿਸਪਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਟੋਨੀਮ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਨਇਮ ਤੋਂ ਦਬਿਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ।

27 ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਤ-ਹਾਰਾਮ, ਬੈਤ ਨਿਮਰਾਹ, ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ੋਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਹੈ। ਧਰਤੀ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੀਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।

28 ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ਼ ਸਨ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

29 ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅੱਧੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਿਲੀ:

30 ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਹਨਇਮ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ, ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਓਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ, ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਈਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ। (ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਠ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਨ।)

31 ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਲਆਦ, ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਦਈ ਦਾ ਅੱਧਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। (ਗਿਲਆਦ, ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰਈ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਓਗ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ।) ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਾਕੀਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅੱਧਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ।

32 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਸੀ।

33 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸੌਗਾਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:

4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:

5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.

6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-maim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

8 With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the Lord gave them;

9 From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;

10 And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;

11 And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.

13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.

14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.

16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;

17 Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,

18 And Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19 And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar in the mount of the valley,

20 And Beth-peor, and Ashdoth-pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,

21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.

22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

26 And from Heshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

27 And in the valley, Beth-aram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.

28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:

31 And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
