Psalm 90:10
ਇਹ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ 70 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੀਵੀਏ। ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਤਕੜੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਉਮਰ 80 ਸਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਅਚਾਨਕ, ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੂਰ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਮੈਂ 80 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮਾੜਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਵਾਦ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੀ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ?
ਯਾਕੂਬ 4:14
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਕੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਇੱਕ ਧੁੰਦ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਦੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਹ ਛੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 34:7
ਮੂਸਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ 120 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ ਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਤਕੜਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੀ।

ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਆਜੜੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੰਬੂ ਪੁਟਿਆ ਜ੍ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੋਹਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਖੱਡੀ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਲਪੇਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸਾਂ ਇੰਨੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ!
ਵਾਈਜ਼ 12:2
ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਸੂਰਜ, ਚੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਣ। ਅਤੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਇੱਕ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਉਣ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 130 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਜੀਵੇ ਸਨ।”
ਅੱਯੂਬ 20:8
ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹ ਦੂਰ ਉੱਡ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਕੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਭਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
