ਉੱਠੋ! ਵੈਣ ਪਾ ਲੈ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ! ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੈਣ ਪਾ ਲੈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗਰਾਂ ਉਲਦ੍ਦ ਦੇ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਉਲਟ ਦੇ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਚੁੱਕ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਲੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਣ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਬੇਸਬਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੀ ਰੂਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੰਜਰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਨਿਆਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
