“ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ, ਆਪਣਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਹਿਲੋਠੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ।

And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

And Moses,	וַיֵּ֨צְא֜וּ	wayyēṣĕʾû	va-YAY-tseh-OO
and Eleazar	מֹשֶׁ֨ה	mōše	moh-SHEH
priest, the	וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר	wĕʾelʿāzār	veh-el-ah-ZAHR
and all	הַכֹּהֵ֛ן	hakkōhēn	ha-koh-HANE

Levites the	הַלְוִיִּ֗ם	halwiyyim	hahl-vee-YEEM
from among	מִתּוֹךְ֙	mittôk	mee-toke
the children	בְּנֵ֣י	bĕnê	beh-NAY
of Israel	יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל	yiśrāʾēl	yees-ra-ALE
instead of	תַּ֧חַת	taḥat	TA-haht
all	כָּל	kāl	kahl
the firstborn	בְּכ֛וֹר	bĕkôr	beh-HORE
that openeth	פֶּ֥טֶר	peṭer	PEH-ter
the matrix	רֶ֖חֶם	reḥem	REH-hem
children the among	מִבְּנֵ֣י	mibbĕnê	mee-beh-NAY
