Matthew 26:36

ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਥੋੜਾ ਕੁ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਿਆ। ਯਿਸੂ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਾਰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਲੈ ਲਵੋ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।”

ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਅਕਸਰ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ।”

ਯਿਸੂ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਹਟਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਕਿਦਰੋਨ ਦੀ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਬਰਾਨੀਆਂ 5:7
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਚੀਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਸੀ।
