ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਵੇਖੋ! ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਪੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਠਹਿਰਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”

ਫਰੀਸੀ ਮਸੂਲੀਏ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਅਲੱਗ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਫਰੀਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭੈੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੋਰ ਜਾਂ ਧੋਖੇਬਾਜ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਬਦਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਮਸੂਲੀਏ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 65:5
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ‘ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਾ ਆਉਣਾ! ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਹਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ!’ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੂਏਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਲਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।”

ਪਰੰਤੂ ਆਤਮਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਆਂੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਦੂਸਰੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰੱਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

“ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਉਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ।”

ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਬਰ ਦਿਓ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੁਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਸੂਲੀਆ ਮੰਨ ਲਵੋ।
